Chickens could be the source of the phrase "Whose your daddy?"

Define "awake"

I was "awake" really early, posted a note and went back to bed. It was tough to re-awaken when I needed to get out of bed. Having had my cereal and about 30 minutes on the computer, I am "awake" again.

Getting ready to put eggs into the Sportsman. Feel free to remind me how crazy I am when I start griping about the challengs of brooding chicks when it is still cold outside.

No drama or action..... Whatever was here isnt here anymore. Cant find it. there are dog prints out back and our dog doesnt want to come in the house, he is laying down between the house and the chicken pens keeping watch...

Wish we had your warmer weather. Not to get above freezing again today. Got another inch and a half of snow from 6am to 7am!

Remember Jarvis,we don't need to hear details of certain things!

City were you serious about wanting apair of creles?

Hey Ronnie, talk to me!

No details, just bragging on my dog..... He hasnt been trained just decided he was the gaurdian of the chickens.... I can leave him with chicks running around the floor in front of him and he would never bother them.

The Lawton Public Library will be hosting a free screening of Food, Inc. this Saturday February 20th at 6:30 PM. The film will be followed by a discussion period. This is part of the library's sustainability on film series.

PM me for details.

There isn't a particular age - just the weight. Most "dual purpose" chickens are processed when they can no longer lay sufficient eggs to pay their rent. RIR were selling for about $12 at Blanchard. Since Fletcher is this coming weekend and fairly close to y'all, you might see what you can get for them as layers, rather than processing them......

Blanchard seems to bring more for birds than Fletcher. Probably because it is larger. She could always PO if she doesn't like the price, though.

Jeannie, if you decide to process them, 18 to 24 weeks seems to be a good age... big enough to have a little meat without being tough. We have processed several RIR roos and they were quite tasty at that age.
