Good afternoon! How is everyone doing today? Went to our local auction this morning and must say it was a sellers market today!! No Bantams mostly RIR and production reds and some broilers, and some barnyard mixes so for the first time of me attending a auction I came home empty handed, so now I am debating on going to Orschellans!! (spelling)

Late noon everyone...

No auction for us I believe... we have had a nice fire going in the back pasture since 9:45 am of brush and down limbs from the storm and its burning very nicely...

So you all have a really wonderful time at Blanchard and we will have to catch ya all again soon....

Jeannie

Hey Sooner hope you find your missing SS!! Well we went to Orscellans went for Buff Brahmas, but they didnt have any left!! Does anyone that is going to Pryor have any Buff Brahma chicks that they wanna get rid of? We ended up coming home with some black and blue Bantam Cochins, well we didnt but my DD did,

LOL DD needs more babies to take care of, seen she was nursing one in her room again! YOu have created a monster!

I have looked everywhere I can think for the missing SS, I sure hope she is just hiding. She was by far the most friendly of my hens & had planned to add more of her breed.

I should be getting my shipment of Oxine AH delivered by UPS on Monday, and I still have an extra gallon of it, if anyone is interested. I ordered 4 bottles thru Revival Animal Health, and with shipping included, it was only $23 for each gallon .... so if anyone else is interested, send me a pm

I can't wait to try the stuff.

Here's what Cutler Supply says about it:

Oxine(AH) Sanitizer & Disinfectant
Disinfectant and also treats upper respiratory, fungal infections such as Salmonella, E.Coli, Mycobacterium, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Newcastle and other pathogens. Spray on eggs, birds or use in drinking water. EPA approved

Here's what EggCartons.com says about it:

Oxine AH in the drinking water destroys all the bio-films, bacteria and other pathogens in the water that can cause Gastric Distress. Oxine AH is the ONLY disinfectant FULLY labeled for misting over live birds. Misting Oxine AH over your birds will kill Airborne Pathogens and put a Halt to the Spread of Disease. The Most Effective Bio-security Against Avian Influenza A Virus. Applications are fully registered with EPA., FDA, USDA, Kosher Certification, and listed with Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI Listed).
Oxine AH is the only disinfectant USDA and EPA APPROVED for Human, Animal and Poultry Drinking water. Oxine AH, kills Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi and Spores with a Mechanical Oxidizing Action. Unlike other disinfectants, Pathogens CANNOT become Resistant to Oxine AH. Pathogens that are resistant to other disinfectants succumb quickly and easily to OxineAH. In tests conducted at the University of Oklahoma, OxineAH was tested to be 200 times more powerful than Chlorine Bleach.

It took 600 ppm of Chlorine Bleach to kill the deadly Bacteria E.coli 0157:H7 while it only took 3 ppm of Oxine AH to accomplish the same test results. Oxine AH is also used to control Sticky Eye in Ducks as well as Nasal Flushing of all Poultry

Disinfectant : Used to disinfect Poultry houses and equipment.
OxineAH is arguably the best disinfectant made. It can be mixed with water and fogged on the birds as well as disinfecting the Poultry house. OxineAH eliminates most Bacteria and viruses including the dreaded Avian Influenza Virus.

Oxine AH is a chlorine dioxide gas suspended and stabilized in an aqueous solution. Use Oxine AH as a disinfecting fog in hatchers, setters, ventilation systems, sorting and common areas and storage and transportation equipment. In populated grow-out buildings use it as a special mist to control surface contaminants and eliminate airborne disease causing microbes. For depopulated buildings it disinfects all interior surfaces when added to the wash water or applied as a final disinfectant fog.

Oxine (AH) is concentrated. It is diluted with water to varying degrees depending on how you would like to use it. Since it is a disinfectant and not a drug, it must make direct contact with the pathogen in order to kill it. In the diluted inactivated state, Oxine is perfectly safe to use around both your birds and yourself. Oxine can also be ‘activated’ using citric acid crystals, which ‘releases’ more of the available chlorine in the solution. If you were to activate the product, it is recommended that you wear a NIOSH approved respirator and you would not be able to fog the solution into any area where the birds are present.

Oxine AH is a superior disinfectant for routine disinfecting of:

E. Coli
Farrowing barns
Finishing barns
Truck washes
Footbaths

In field trials Oxine AH fed through watering system has shown effective results against the following:

E. Coli
Salmonella
Heitis is Ileitis
Colibacillosis (scours or diarrhea)

It sounds like a great product & I can't wait to try it. Maybe I should add it to my drinking water and take baths in it ???

OK, I'll try it on Gerald first

Gerald has called me several times from the Blanchard auction. He said hatching eggs are selling for $2 or more a dozen, and chicks are selling for around $2 each or more. I would have thought that with the Spring weather today, that prices would have been higher than that. He said the place is packed with people.

He said several Okies are there, but he didn't name everyone ... mentioned Maribeth is there with honey

and that he saw Stephanie & Carl and Doc & Renia. It was hard for me to hear him over the auctioneer & noise in the background though. It sounds like everyone is having a great time there.

Wish I was there & not here

Q wish I would of known about the rabit, Michael tried to give me a really cute one last weekend at the auction. You could also hit up Bill & Eulaine, they have a couple of litters.

I am tired of cleaning! I have looked everywhere outside that I could think of for my SS!! Watching WWII in HD, anyone else watching it?

Yes, you would definitely enjoy the Blanchard auction.

How far away are you from the Durant/Blue auction? It's the first and third Tuesday of every month, beginning at 7 p.m. It's a lot of fun to go to ... but usually lasts until sometime in the am.

Beautiful day today, wasn't it?

I've been stuck inside a little office with no windows all afternoon. Oh, but it's almost lunchtime. I can leave the office for 30 minutes now.
