Ronnie, we had a peach tree in my yard growing up, but I couldn't tell ya what kind of peaches they were. Would have been excellent quality if my folks would have maintained it. worms and such. I know...that wasn't much help lol

now back to looking for my question

My question was if there were any family owned hatcheries in Oklahoma. I got several responses. One said that one of them closed last year...and that may be the one that the new okie pioneers said they were going to close, but because of the economy decided they would stay open..not sure on that one cause I can't remember the name on that one. Then someone mentioned superior farms. Going to go look that one up now..someone also mentioned $200 for day old chick order from them? I was just skimming through so, Idk. And yes, It did help

thanks for asking, and thanks Everyone!!.....hey I wonder...could someone make a list of the Oklahoma hatcheries and Breeders and put it into the first post of our thread? That would make it super easy reference. Then if we have any questions about any of them, we could just ask on here.

I also wanted to know if any of you folks are selling any day olds anytime soon

Yup...I saw that...

I had seen this hatchery before and forgot about it...probably b/c of the prices! I think their birds are supposed to be SQ. I'm not looking for SQ just yet... I want to get more pens built before we are ready to venture into that realm lol

Maybe a few at a time or so, but right now I'm looking for utility flock.

ETA: Thanks for the link!!

I would get some hatching eggs, but I don't have an incubator so that's on hold for a while too

Ronnie for heaven's sake... you are just like my hubby.... he comes home for lunch one day last June with his bicep all bundled up and asks me to meet him in the bathroom...He asks me real innocent like, do I think this deal needs stitches. He takes off all the krap he has wrapped around his arm and the blood shoots off towards the mirror...He was stripping wire and slipped and nicked a vein and cut down into his bicep. I packed it in a dish towel and by the time we got to the hospital that was soaked through and he had HUGE clot under the skin... looked like a tennis ball under there.

I was so ticked. He does that stuff all the time. The last deal was Wednesday night... He was put on these HUGE doses of antibiotics a couple weeks ago for an infection and they warned him to look out for side effects... DUH.... DUH...DUH.... Dude comes in Wednesday night takes off his shirt and asks real innocent like (you would think I'd learn)...

If I knew what this weird rash was? DUH...DUH...DUH... the stuff is everywhere and looks like a real bad burn. I went off like a BOMB! I asked how long he had.... he's like...I dunno A FEW DAYS!!

I think delewares are 4$ a chick the rest are like 5-7.50 with a max of 6 chicks per breed or variety. So with those prices and a minimum of 25 chicks shipped on top of 18.50 im thinking around 200$

Too rich for my blood.....

OK who is going to an auction Saturday night?

Gerald and I are making plans to take some hatching eggs & chicks and possibly some birds to the Blanchard auction and then going to the Jones auction to check it out & take some more hatching eggs & birds there.

We have too too too many hatching eggs and chicks! I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse. It's sure a curse when I have to clean their brooders all the time. I hate chickiepoo

And another rack of chicks is hatching in the sportsman today with no available brooder space left.

Grace, I still would like to go to Durant on Tuesday. I guess I should ask my boss for the night off, and if he approves it ... maybe Gerald will take me there. Let's see .... I need to bring some Spitz Chicks or eggs or something?

We have more turkey eggs! The blue slates are ahead of everyone else, a dozen eggs now, got a few royal palm and one bourbon red!!! The Narragansett toms are busy trying to fight with the neighboring toms in the other pens, and therefore the Narri hens are not doing

chickensandmore, I sure wish you were closer ... I have lots of beautiful EE eggs available for hatching

Let's see .... Egyptian Fayoumi, Silkie, Brabanter ... It's hard to remember right now, since I'm at work & can't go look to see what we did hatch. And there's the chicks I hatched that I want to possibly keep (marans, welsummers, spitzhauben)

Now for hatching eggs, we have Spitzhauben, Brabanter, Jersey Giant, Turken, Silkie, Araucana, Mille Fleur d'Uccle, Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans.
