I would like the closest-to-being-an-adult Spitzhauben rooster you have. I was going to get eggs, but I won't have any incubator space yet

And I know I'll want something else, but I am still deciding...... What is you status on these - Marans chicks, Spitz chicks, Silkie chicks?

Still no promises on us going to Durant on Tuesday night, but I will do my best on the oldest roo chick I have (I think he's 3-4 months old) unless I get one of my breeder roos, and then yes, we have some cuckoo, spitz and silkie chicks. I'm sure we could find some for you. I'll take a better look at them this weekend & let you know what we have, colors & ages etc. and will send you a pm. You need some broody silkie hens for incubators!

Okay. If you cannot make it, that is fine too. I will get what I want at POOPS if I have to

Doubleostud is first in line for a couple I have, and I may sell a few pullets that should begin laying any day. It is sure hard to pry a silkie from me .... they are so adorable!

The atwoods in norman just had assort st run...... and maybe two dozen.(And ducks, guineas and banties asst st run) I will admit my newbieness, could you just tell what they were or were they labelled?? I had no idea what the chics I was looking at were, most I am guessing were RIRs, but aren't there quite a few others that look the same......... Sorry if my Qs are stupid. I'm just wondering if they were labelled in stillwater why not in norman????

You just have to guess at what breeds they are. That's the fun of it!

Do you live in Mustang area? They have a Crosby Ranch on Hwy 152 that advertised they were getting chicks in last week. I haven't been to see if they have them in yet. I only want to see them because they had a coupon for a free chick with any purchase. I'm a sucker for FREE stuff!

I won't be going to an auction, but what kind of chicks do you have Carla? big_smile

Let's see .... Egyptian Fayoumi, Silkie, Brabanter ... It's hard to remember right now, since I'm at work & can't go look to see what we did hatch. And there's the chicks I hatched that I want to possibly keep (marans, welsummers, spitzhauben)

Now for hatching eggs, we have Spitzhauben, Brabanter, Jersey Giant, Turken, Silkie, Araucana, Mille Fleur d'Uccle, Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans.

I'll take some silkies

and Jersey Giants...that is if I can get a good silkie broody

Yukon. Yeah all our family member gave me their coupons, I have like 5 and no they don't have chics, I have been calling and stopping by for the last three weeks and they keep saying next week or the week after, getting annoyed honestly.....
hmm.png
..... The first ad I got said "next week" that was the week before valentine's .... the latest ads I got say March....... then one girl said they really don't know when they will come in........ I was in there last on..... oh last night
roll.png
I've been in too many feed stores over the last three weeks.......

I'm glad I ordered mine cause I'd lose at the guessing game
lol.png
I need quiet/friendly birds so one mistake could be a disaster for me

I've never had a female silkie that didn't go broody. It's really frustrating when you don't want them to be broody and are trying to sell their eggs. Those silkie hens will sit on an empty nest for months waiting for something to hatch

Of course with chicks, they are straight run only so your chance of getting roosters is 50/50, I'd guess. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a rooster yet that would go broody.
