Coming from the East, on 277/19 turn right on Main. From the West, on 277/19 turn left on Main. The Fairgrounds are on the NE corner of 5th & Main. You will see a metal building with cars and trucks around it. Can't miss it. I found it the first time not even knowing what part of town it was in.

Thanks Jer-man
what time does it start?

See OKCarla's post above.

Robin,

What beautiful silkie chicks! I hope they turn out to be pullets. Keep me posted on the LB. I traded the other two you saw Friday to Kate when I saw her in Collinsville. I'm setting more LB eggs on Wednesday or Thursday, so if either of yours decides to crow, we'll get you a replacement.

It is hard to lose a friend especially one so young. Thanks for being there for his family, it probably been devastating to them more then anyone. Enjoy the auction tonight.

So I went by P&B's and picked up some honey from her (raw honey). Talked for a bit, still am light sensitive though but I'll take the better mood ya know?

Went home to clean the coop and realized that ALL THE CHICKENS WERE OUT.

Had to catch them all, 1 of my MFC girls is MIA. The other 9 (layers and MFCs) were fine.

The furry culprit is at my parents' house, in their chainlink dog run. Yeah, she didn't kill any, and the 1 that's missing probably hopped the fence and split. But. She (the terrier terror) is the one that keeps pulling the wire away from the bottom of the coop with her teeth. I've tried all kinds of things to get her to stop, but nothing worked. Not taking the chance because I don't want to lose any more to that kind of behavior.

So I lost an MFC but just one, so that's good. Was able to catch the rest without much problem (I neeeeed to buy one of those big bird net things). Used bricks and big paving stones to hold the wire in until I can get it cleaned out and re-stapled to the base of the frame.

Sorry to hear about your MFC going missing. I have that happen, way to often but I am working on it and aside from stupid freak acidents like I had Thursday and Friday everyone is doing fine.
Just a suggestion, gets some corregated tin or r-paneling and bury it about 3 or 4 inches where the dog is pulling at the wire. That is what I did to keep the critters from digging into my grow out pen. Craigslist always has someone selling it cheap or check some of the auctions they sell it as well.
I am looking forward to seeing your MFC. Are you bringing some to POOPS to show. They sound wonderful.

Doing much better Robin, thanks for asking! Tired from a long day.

I see you will be building a bigger coop! LOL.

Robin,

I'm glad you're enjoying the LB pullets. I've always found the breed to be gentle and friendly. When yours get a little older, send me some pictures so I can compare them to their brothers. I'm happy to hear folks on the gender thread think they are pullets too.
