Thanks Maribeth.

We just candled the duck and chicken eggs. I ended up tossing 7 dozen eggs. A lot of the eggs were old, so I wasn't sure they were going to make. I replace with a few more duck eggs and a lot of chicken eggs. I left a couple of racks empty so I could add quail eggs in a couple of days. I now have 2 dozen and as soon as I get enough to fill 2 racks, they are going in.

I'm headed to bed. The A/C is running in the bedroom and I'm gonna crawl in the heated bed. G'night all.

guys im ready for poops will be my first event woo hoo

teach i hope you still have those birds ready for me lol

im hopeing if all hatching goes well i should have a bunch of birds for poops as well but im trying to wait and see and not count the chicks before they hatch before i open my mouth and say how many im bringing and such lol its murphys law around here

I understand that and am following the same philosophy. I have a couple of adult birds that I'm bringing. I'm not saying what they are but they will be in the POOPS auction. At least one person has expressed interest in them. I have 3 styrofoam bators running and most, if not all, of those birds are going in one of the auctions. They will probably be split between the two. I guess I better get busy building some cages.

Good Morning Okies,

I'm in the same boat. I want to take this but some people have expressed interest in that. I have
3 incubators running full steam and should hatch a week prior to P.O.O.P.S. There should be something for
everybody.
I know what Doc (Hi-Jacker) is bringing, a hospital coop for City, a Bantam Chicken Tractor for a P.O.O.P.S. donation,
and 2 Bantam Chicken Tractors to auction off as well as some chicken show travel cages.

Morning!
Sure glad that I haven't promised any chicks - because I haven't hatched very many. I took two chicks from a setting hen last night and gave her another 10 eggs, but even the hen only hatched 2 out of her original 10 chicks. My incubator percentage is only about 2 from every 30+ eggs. If I were only setting my own eggs, I would blame my roosters. Since I am setting eggs from Carla and Gerald and the chicks are forming however, I know it is the incubator or operator error

On a more positive note however, I have been gifted with some feeders and other chicken things that I don't need, so they will be at POOPS for the donation auction.

Food listing for POOPS 2010:

Hi everyone as you know P.O.O.P.S will be May 1st . There will be one meal this year. Most of the meat (thanks to our P.O.O.P.S fund from the fall) will be taken care of so we will be looking mainly for side dishes, deserts, casseroles, paper products, cutlery & drinks.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in, chicken & dumplings were a big hit along with that banana pudding. Keep in mind the number of people (aprox. 100) that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

If you volunteer to bring drinks, paper products or cutlery please tell me the quantity you will bring, also the drinks will need to be on ice. I will also need 2 of the large drink coolers to make kool -aid & tea.

I will need volunteers to help with setting up the meal & cleaning up after.
Please PM me with Food in the subject line with what you plan to bring.

How is everyone's morning so far!

P&B What do you think the problem is with your hatches? Humidity or Temp?

Howdy neighbor.
I am in Newalla too. sort of..
Not Newalla proper but on the western edge.
Make yourself at home and be on your toes. This thread can move pretty fast some days.
Let us know about yourself and your birds.
