I took some pics of the wellies also. I am loading them to photobucket right now.

The welsummers are just now starting to lay for me because we moved them and they closed up shop for 3 weeks

, but we got one yesterday so they will be in full swing within the week or so.

The EEs are laying like crazy. So I will definitely have some eggs from them. Unless a wellie or an EE goes broody, no chicks for me because I don't have a bator yet. But I am trying to talk hubby into one.

Hi fellow Oklahomans !!
I am looking for Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans. Does anyone know where to buy some in Oklahoma? My flock did have 7 roosters and 8 hens until I sold all but my silkie rooster. He is sooo funny so I had to keep him!! Anyways, I would like to find young hens or sexed chicks if possible. I may have to just try my luck again!! I am new to raising chickens and I am learning a lot. I am glad to see that there are other Oklahoma people on this forum!!!

but i don't think that will work for the rest of the family. We might head down the road to a casino, they have great food for good prices!

Pryor show is just a few days away and the weather is still COOL! How are we suppose to get birds ready? I already have chicks taking up one bathtub I seriously doubt i can bath them in the other one without hubby piching a complete fit!!

Well better figger out something for supper.

I have not been added to the list and I would appreciate it if you would!! I would love to have that mans numbers and let me know if you are going to sell some of your chicks or hatching eggs. I live in Newalla. I bought some Cuckoo Marans from a man and they ended up being a mixed breed. This was my first year to raise chickens so I didn't know what I was doing!! I only payed a buck for each chick though so it wasn't too bad. They still are good layers!! I am glad to see there are fellow Oklahomans on this forum!!

I am from the Choctaw/Newalla area. We are gonna have a big get together and chicken swap among our BYC Okies right in this area.
You have to be very careful about eggs and even chicks. They aren't always as they seem. We have lots of Okies here and several that sell a lot of eggs and hatch a lot of chicks.
I will add you to the list and pm you the number.

I am going to be much more careful when I search for chicks now. When is the chicken swap going to be? I really dont have any to swap, but I would be willing to buy!!

How much do you charge for hatching eggs? Are you going to sell Welsummer eggs too?
