morning girl

Good morning.. How are you this lovely rainy day?

ok i guess i tried to post sale on craigslist and it says im over posting lol

i was gonna take some animals today but dont feel like wading through the mud to get them so i may bring them to you tomorrow lol

Having to walk on a slick surface is the main cause, but I think the humidity while they were hatching may also cause that (I'm just not sure if it was too much or too little humidity.)

Yeah I know the feeling with the mud... I have got ponds all over my yard right now, but the ducks will love it when i get my lazy butt out there and turn them out.

I got chickens sitting in cages out at the barn getting fat waiting on Saturday.

He should refund your money or take them back, but people don't always do what they "should"...
Just so you know, he could be NPIP certified and still have sick birds. All the NPIP tests for is pulorum/typhoid and they do spot checks for avian influenza. There are "many" other things that could make birds sick.

Do you have a buff orpington rooster consigned yet? Mine kicked the bucket yesterday. He got his tail whipped by one of my new cochin roosters and we gave him a preventative shot just in case, and now we need one....

Tylan 50 and LA 200 are both good antibiotics. Get the birds well first and then proceed with wormer and vitamins.

If they are still sick they won't take the wormer very well and it will knock them back down and then the vitamins would be a waste.

If you are using water soluable antibiotics, don't feed them for at least the first 5 days.

Using injectible antibiotics, normally use 1 cc under the skin in the breast area every day for 3 days and cut their feed in half of normal.

Hi-Jacker

I really need to apologize for my (Hi-Jacker) post last night.

I should not post anything until I've had the time to proofread it and have the time to ensure it is what was meant. ( see the above bold print )

Yes, by all means feed the sick bird. don't feed them MEDICATED CRUBLES ALONG WITH WATER SOLUABLE ANTIBIOTICS for at least the first 5 days.

This will over-medicate the birds.

I posted and then we rushed out the door for an auction. When we got home last night we were catching up on posts and

"Yep, I'm an idiot."

Everyone that read that has alrady said it too, I deserve that one.

Hopefully you guys got it straightened out before someone starved their poor birds last night

Dumb ^$$ Hi-Jacker

thanks for the good laugh this morning!! like i have seen a post on to increase egg laying don't let your birds have water for 5 days!

I just need to get better at talking to myself. Although with being sleep deprived now, I think I am doing it & just don't know it yet.

See notes to self.
