gonna be on very little until the satelite glitch is fixed, our satelite internet is giving us problems so are using the dial up... forgot how slow that can be!

if your ever bored, put your 3 month old chicks in a pen at nite, and turn a lite on- they are hilarious! we worked on the outside coop for them, with extruded screen on it and 3 layers of hardware cloth on the front- yes i am paranoid about coons... think that will be sufficient??

Hello Stew (& Ajo)! You're in the right place. There are a few peeps on here who can help you get your girls started showing - are they interested in showing anything besided cochins? Are your current cochins bantams or standards? Are you a member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run? (I'm asking because I volunteer with Special Olympics Oklahoma and was in Stillwater this past week for the Summer Games - LETR is always a big part of our week.) Anyway - glad you're here!

Hello all and thank you for the warm welcome. I am not a member of the torch run however I have attended the last two games in Stillwater with our schools athletes and it was truly my honor. I was unable to attend this year but am very close to the athletes here in my school district and when I think I've got it rough I simply reflect on them and draw inspiration from their courage. Anyway, to be honest we have a small backyard flock of gold laced feather footed bantams but know nothing whatsoever about show birds. My girls are 9 and 14 and we would like to find very small, heavily colored,. feather footed somethings. We are in the infancy stages of this project and are looking forward to learning from people such as yourself and all the others that have responded. We have already prepared ourselves for the inevitable addiction and are excited about it. Iwill both apologize and thank you all in advance for helping answer the many questions that we will have.
Be safe,
Stew and Ajo...Looking forward to earning a place in the BYC family.

Howdy Ajosdad you are in the right place and lucky to be an Okie! You'll find plenty of folks here that can get you started in the right direction. I wanted to say thank you for your service and welcome to the BYC!

Hello, my Okie friends just wanted to jump on here before I head to visit the "Sand Man".

we are glad to have you here. So you are a cochin fan huh??? Me too, I love those fluffy butts. I have partridge, mottled, splash, black and white. So tell us about your flock and how many chickens you want.

Had a wonderful day, first went to Chickasha and picked up a dog kennel. The chainlink is a bit messed up but thanks to Carla and Gerald I have plenty to fix it with. Than headed north to Mustang and picked up another one just like the first and it was in perfect condition. Got both for $175 total. Now I am trying to figure out exactly how I am going to set up the additional grow out pen and the breeder pens.

Thank you sir, and you are most welcome. 8 years in the USMC and now 19 years in Law Enforcement. I wanted to go to college but there weren't any parking spaces so I ended up at the Marine recruiters office.
