PoCo glad to hear that barnvelders might set. My two are doing good and are starting to get real tall.

We had the kids over and spent a couple hours in the pool. Only one casuality,I sunburned my bald head!lol Now its clouding up for our afternoon shower to create the sauna effect!

Thanks Sooner! I'm in Tulsa. Right now I have 2 EE's (1 pullet 1 cockerel) 2 GLW's (1 Pullet & 1 cockerel) and the other girls are 1 BR 1 RIR, 2 Res Stars and 1 Australorp. I have 2 mallards and 1 Crested duck. I recently lost my Cochins and my polish bantam (bad dog got them) so I have more chicks on the way this week. Naked Neck, Silver Cuckoo Marans, Buff & Blue Polish, Blue & Partridge Cochins and Columbian Wyandotte. It will be nice to have a chirpy little brooder around again

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. I see from your description of your flock that you are well on your way to a poultry addiction. Let us know if you need any hatching eggs, additional birds or directions to auctions to help you along with your acquisitions. We love to enable others toward a poultry addiction.

Beth, I think that computer is going to have to be swept and reloaded by one of my son's computer friends, since it won't recognize the thumb drive to allow me to use any other virus cleaners on it. What kind of turkey feather do you want? Tail feather? Long wing feather? I will buy a backup computer account once I get that computer fixed but would be happy to pluck a turkey feather or two for you in the meantime.

Being new to the multiple chicken breeds and just starting the auction addiction...I need help.

Who can identify all the "short hand" of poultry? ie, EE is Easter Egger, RIR is Road Island Red, OEGB Old English Game Bantam, etc...
Reading or hearing descriptions is like Greek to me

When I first started reading, the picture was too low on the screen for me to see, so it was especially funny.

I suspect that mistakes like that happen more often than folks will admit, particularly when first getting started with poultry.

Most of my neighborhood was flooded. Had to take different streets to get to the the main street because all my normal ones were flooded out. My off-ramp that I normally take to work was flooded too (2 cars, 2 trucks and a semi all flooded out there) so I went to the next one up which was clear. Was a good thing... that street also passes my work but I normally don't take it because it goes down to 1 lane each side for about 1 1/2 miles. My normal street passes to the front of the building and it was closed (police and all blocking it off) due to flooding, but the street that I take when I use the other exit was open.

All in all, took about twice as long to get here as it normally does.
