Doodle - I'm giving my Barnevelder broody some eggs today, after I move her and "The Special Nest Box", so I'll keep you posted on how she does. I've never had a BVelder go broody before. She shut down egg laying in the big pen because she is in the special box that all the girls like to use. I've got gloves and a long sleeved shirt ready. As soon as this rain quits I'll replace the hinges on the door for the extra pen and move the nest box, with the hen in it. The other girls in that pen will be happy to see her go. She has been soooooo cranky.

Carah.....I didn't desert you. As soon as I posted the electrice went out. It's barely raining here but it still went off. I have to get ready to start having utilities, etc. shut off at my parents house...getting ready to tear it down. I can't wait until things start moving on our house.

Well, I did my 5K walk Saturday. It was so strange...I had never done anything like that before. As I've posted before about trying out for the Biggest Loser and didn't get picked because I wasn't big enough..what a joke. Well, Saturday at the 5K our head trainer came up to me and said that he had entered the race so he could walk with me. I didn't understand what he was saying at first....he said Donna are you listening to me...I just paid my money just so I could WALK WITH YOU and cross that finish line with you.

OMG...what an honor...this guy has trained contestants on Biggest Loser. He told me that the first time he saw me walking with the group he did not think that I would be able to complete the 12 week program. Then when he saw me walk the second day he saw how stubborn I was and said he knew I'd make it and he wanted to cross that finish line with me.

It was the weirdest feeling...everyone was screaming...music playing so loud...and about a half mile out of me finishing 4 of the mentors ran back to meet me and finish the walk with me. Needless to say I was crying like a baby...to have so many people that cared enough about me to do that. These people from Fleet Feet are absolutely awesome.

Now, how about those chickens. We've been having a horrible time with coyotes. We've lost several of our best laying hens. I just wish there was some way we could shoot them and put a stop to it.

I'll be posting real soon about some chickens that we are going to be selling. We know that it will be impossible to take care of the number of chickens that we have as we are building our house. I'm working on taking pics to post. If anyone wants them great...then I put them on craigslist.

Everyone have an awesome day.

LOL Donna I didnt think that! I left to go to work & just getting Monday under control!

I am so proud of you doing that 5K!!! What awsome people you are surrounded with!!! I hope you continue to work towards your goal, it is really something that alot won't understand but will mean the world to you.

I can relate on the house. We are back to working on it too. I figure it if it is meant to be he will let it happen.

I also need to thin out some chickens......wish I had time to run to Collinsville.......

Good morning.. It is raining and I cant go play with the chickens.

Hello Elle! I was up til midnight goofing around on the website. I have links everywhere. When I was finished playing for the evening I asked Carl to take a look to see if it was user friendly. Now he is asking if I can put a slideshow on it. I think it is time to beat him.

Don't rub it in. Dry and parched down here.

You can have some of ours.

We've got cars floating out of the parking lot into the street. Every major road to get out of this place is closed off now because they're all flooded. Good thing I've got another 6 hours on this shift.... hopefully it'll recede before I should be leaving to go home.

I need to share a story with you all. 3 weeks ago we made a trip down to Tuttle, actually we were in Norman and then went to Tuttle. Okcarla had her bantams for sale and I talked my husband into taking me by. I actually have nonbuyers remorse, because I wish I had bought all of the bantams she had. We made it out of there with some chicks, a splash silkie hen and a pair of blue OEGB's. On the way out we went by a cage of buff japs. The hen had just laid an egg. My daughter, who is miss talkative, was all excited about the egg, so Carla kindly gave it to her. We visited some more, all the while, Emma was holding this little egg. All the way home she held her egg. I promised to put it in the incubator for her. I forgot about it, until yesterday. We were gone shopping, my husband called me and asked if I had any chicks due to hatch. I didn't think so, I was wrong. Emma's egg that Carla gave her was in the incubator chirping it's little head off. So, a huge thank you to Carla for the egg, we really appreciate it.

It is really quiet today in my office building. The agency on the bottom two floors of the building is shut down due to flooding. There were quite a few folks who were unable to get out of their neighborhoods. Arcadia has received over 9 inches of rain, Will Rogers World Airport has had more than 5 inches and Edmond has received about 13 inches of rain in places. We have only received about 1.25 inches at my house, but all the hens have decided it is a good day to stay in the hen house. The ducks, turkeys and guineas are out and about of course. I just hope that the turkey hens, the guinea hen and the ducks sitting on nests don't get flooded out. They are all in locations of their choice, under bushes or in flower beds.

We're at about half-staff or so. Two of the attorneys couldn't make it in. Mom decided to stay home so that Dad would only have to go straight to work (takes off over half his trip) and that way I wouldn't have to take her home after work. I am seriously glad that you have to drive UP the driveway to get to my house.

Your website looks great, I know everytime I have Bob look at the website after I have worked on it the first thing out of his mouth is can I add this or that! (but then he tells me how great it looks, smart man!)
