July 31st. Got it.

I understand what it's like to be without your man. When John and I first married, he was hired by a Mississippi corporation who then sent him to Houston. For the first couple years he was home every other weekend. There was a long stretch when he didn't travel, but now he's back on the road for a Broken Arrow firm, and he's battling hard to be home 3 weeks each month. He lost the fight this month, since he's in FL for three weeks.

FYI - the plant in Talequah will be delivering frozen chicken to the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in OKC this coming Thursday. You need to place your order ahead of time and they are only bringing 10 lb bags of either legs, or thigh/leg quarters, or thighs, or wings. Each 10 lb bag is $10. So yes, I will be buying frozen chicken out of the back of a refrigerator truck in the parking lot at Bass Pro, so I can support an Oklahoma producer.

If anyone is interested, contact for the D.A.R.P. plant is www.greatchickens.com The website doesn't list information regarding this delivery on the 22nd to OKC but if you want to send me an email (click email instead of PM under my screen name) I will forward the email that I received so that you can place an order also. I love local food!

Hi Coral! You could always come to the Blanchard auction as well...it's a fun one too! Acutally I think all auctions are fun...so I am biased!

I too love to support CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) as much as I can...I love it! Maribeth, you didn't mention if they will be having whole chickens or breast meat...are they not going to have them available? And what time are they going to be at Bass Pro?

I have a feather question...

One of my adult roosters is molting and he seems to be losing every tail feather except for a couple that are broken on the ends and make him look funky.

I don't know if I should just leave them to fall out or if they need to be pulled out so that they'll grow back in right.

YAY PEACHES it reminds me of an old song I use to play when I was away from my family. "Restless hearts sleep alone tonight Sending all my love along the wire. They say that the road ain't no place to start a family. Right down the line its been you and me, And loving a (Military man) ain't always what its suppose to be. Oh girl you stand by me, I'm forever yours, Faithfully... I will keep you two in my prayers.

Yay funchick how ya been ;p Yea I took an old trampoline and made it into a shade spot. and made a mister hose out of an ol garden hose lol.
Fresh ckicken Yummy. Speaking of I will have 27 freshly processed free ranged Cornish rock cross's on 8/1/10 I raise my meaties 100% naturally no medications from day 1 When I say free ranged I don't mean drag along tractors I only use tractors the last 2 weeks of there life So I can make sure what kind of feed there being fed out on I like a little more corn in the feed for feeding out Just gives a nice wholesome taste. I also find by raising my flocks on natural grains Instead of the gamebird feed i was refered to there lot more tasteful. I only sell whole chickens. So my apoliges in advance. and my price is $2.00 per lbs pm me if you want to enquire about any of them

Hey everyone,

Wrapping up our day... well the first half anyways... Aleisha picked our first yellow squash of the season from our garden... YEA!!! I think I may just have to use it with dinner tonight... Scalloped Potatoes(home made).... Steak..... Squash.... Garlic Bread... YUM O...

How is everyone else fairing in this hot weather ... how are your chickens doing... The geese and ducks are living in the kiddie pool and a few of our month old turkeys are trying to do the same.. but they get shoo'd out by the more bossy Lucy and Goosey...

Congrats Michael for the GFM
