Finally got a nice, but rather short rain about 10:15 last night. Had high winds earlier. Haven't been out yet to check for damage. A very old oak tree that shades most of the original poultry pen has started losing huge branches during storms.

Should have a decent hatch of guineas--in pretty colors--in a week or so. Not sure exactly, as I broke up two nests.

Spoiled baby lavender Silkie now has two baby brother/sisters. Lots of others in the other incubator.

Taking some Silkies--mostly pet quality--to Chupps early in the morning. Probably won't stay around very long, though.

Morning everyone

We didn't get much rain but everything looks "washed" and clean this morning.
We could have used more rain, but in Oklahoma it is scary to "ask for more weather" because you just might "get it" and not be happy with what you "get"

Trying to decide whether to go to an auction on Saturday night - the only thing I might be interested in would be some cages - provided the price is cheap

Good morning Okies!
Great news,Izzy(the Taco dog) was able to get up and eat and drink this morning! First time in 4-5 days! She has a nice wet cool nose and her eyes are wet and bright and shinny! There were acouple of mornings we didn't expect her to be with us. Still not out of the woods but a big step forward. The IV fluids are a horrible experience for her and us but are doing their job. We are so happy.
Other good/bad news,Brenda has taken a new job offer,a nice one. Bad part is it is not in Okla! (%$^%$@#@#^&*). Its in Bowling Green Ky. Thats about 35 minutes from here. Its a big change ,from a 36 bed facility to a 128 bed one. But she will have lots of staff to help her. So I guess we are going to be here at least till she retires in a few more years!

Got some needed rain this morning. Letting the almost grown birds freerange today. They are so pretty out running around.

Morning Everyone, The new roos are setteling in just fine I will be working on coops and pens all weekend but talking about smoking meat has got me craving brisket LOL I haven't fired up the smoker all year but this would be a great time to do it. I'm really liking this weather we didn't get much rain here at the house but it is cooler anyway, I don't know why but I was thinking that the Fletcher auction was this weekend I guess I had a misfire or something, I was wanting to go to a sale somewhere Sat and take a few rabbits, Any suggestions?

Al, I am firing up the smoker myself. Pork shoulder will be the featured guest but I might throw a couple of chickens in there too if they get too close.
Would love to go on a dove hunt. Its been a long time.
Its harder these days to find a place to go.
I am ready for deer season. Jared just got a new .270 and then bought a Nikon scope with his birthday cash.
He is raring to go.

Good Morning Everyone...

Haven't been on in a while. I have missed everyone.

My house is sick. One of my kids stayed home Monday, Montana stayed home on Tuesday and Wednesday. I came down with whatever is going around yesterday.

Im ready for this to be gone. Feels like the flu. Body aches, fever, sinus congestion... headaches...

How is everyone else doing?
