My sister was given one of the little pet shop turtles when a friend didn't want to care for it any more. When she first brought it home, it fit in a small fish bowl. She eventually gave it to a friend who had a wooded lot, and by then it was so big it barely fit in a small packing box, the kind you pack books in.

Here in Oklahoma it is the snapping turtles and soft shell turtles snapper taste really gamie but soft shells are very tender. Also turtles have 7 different kinds of meat in them. as Kids we use to catch the turtles and take them to hannah who was an old indian lady she would clean them split the shells wash them really nice and serve us kids turtle soup from the hard back shells was to die for.
On another note A 7 FOOT SNAKE IS LOOSE IN MY HOUSE.

Problem is I cant find him anywhere.

How can you not find a 6-7 foot snake in the house
hit.gif
oh well I just hope he catches all the field mice that have attempted to take refugee here Usually every harvest I get flooded with mice and its time for traps and bait to come out. Perhaps he is cleaning up my loose ends?
hu.gif
Well hopefully I find him soon so I can put him back under the house has to be the same 7 footer I saw sunning in the drive last month.

Anybody up yet or are Ya'll on holiday schedule, me I am off to work sort of, going to pick up some materials I ordered for a new job.

Just for kicks I wanted to show you my last project I did for a customer, I ripped the kitchen apart and built some custom cabinets and she wanted an Antique copper ceiling, so this is how it turned out.

She liked it so much she wanted the backsplashes done also.

You can't see them in this pic, but I installed some cool looking recessed rope lighting on the top of the cabinets to give it a soft backlight and highlight the copper effect. they are controlled by a switch I put in the stove vent hood.

I wired in a bunch of GFI outlets, and the granite countertops came out pretty good too.

Anyway just thought you might like to see some different idea's for those of you who are building new homes and might want some cool idea's. I like doing stuff like this as it is unusual and inovative.

Wow! We are going to work on our kitchen in about a year. Is Choctaw too far?
My brother and his wife have copper backsplashes. The put the leftovers in the back of their kitchen hutch.
