Modern, how do your boys show in Texas, I have always heard that they won't allow OKlahoma bird to cross into the state?????

It's the Texas OEGB show but it's held in Oklahoma (Newcastle, OK)

It's my Birthday too! If you weren't so far away, we'd come celebrate with you.

I guess Gerald & I will just go to the Blanchard poultry auction instead. Surely we'll enjoy some excitement there.

Well not really. An Afgan Hound can clear 8 feet without breaking it's stride and according to sites on Coyotes they can clear fences much taller too. It may be time for electricity to come to SE Ok. Both Zareba and Gallager sell fence energizers that will turn bear and large hoof stock such as Moose and Elk. The big ones are pricey and if there are small children around I would not reccomend getting a charger that hot.

We use a mid-range for the stallion pen and once I raised up under a gate and it put a nice burn across my back through my shirt.

You can use the intelligence of predators against them. After you put in an electric fence tie some meat on the hot wires and hose the area down on either side of the fence. Even if they just sniff the fence they will recieve a healthey jolt due to the wet ground and their smarts will keep them from forgetting the experiance.

My male Komondor pup that is 10 months old already clears our 6 foot chain link fence. He just leaps over with ease

We bought all the electric fence stuff ... but don't have the knowledge of how to install it or the time available either.

Does anybody want to make $20 per hour to install it on our 5 acres? Or, I could trade poultry or a male fainting goat or ???

Sulphur is a much better place to live than Texas, any day!

Actually, I loved living in South Texas ... San Antonio and Harlingen.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma.

So, tell us about the kind of poultry you have or would like to acquire. We love to assist others in acquiring whatever kind of poultry they desire. What can we help you find?
