I have no personal experience with them but someone posted here a while back that he was hard to deal with and they didn't let you pick chicks up at the hatchery.
I also called them for a brochure but never got one.

Hmmmm, sure makes me wonder ... I just did a google search on their phone number and came up with Southside Garden and Floral. Perhaps they are too busy for customers

Hello, Stray here. I feel like I'm interupting or something here... Gah~!! Anyways Okcarla sent me here

. I've been searching for started pullets of any kind, though I do prefer Polish or cochin, but as long as they're not a heavy breed I don't really mind what they are, also I'm only looking for a couple of them. I still feel like I'm interupting...
I would LOVE to go to the Blanchard Poultry Auction this Saturday, but I'm in the PCW HS Band and am going to San Antonio this April, so I have work to pay my not-so-cheap-trip-fee it's agrivating.

Also I can not Believe it's going to snow today....

We are a bunch of poultry addicts and many of us have addictions to hatching eggs and attending auctions. But if you are strong, you may be able to resist the addictiveness of this forum

Congratulations on being part of the marching band competition in San Antonio! That is a beautiful city to visit and you are bound to have fun, even though you will be working hard while you are there. Good Luck!

Cochins or Polish? I don't have any of those, but do have young pullets of some other breeds. If you don't find your Cochins or Polish and are interested in some Golden Comets or Black Sex Links, let me know. I have some that were hatched in Sept.

(edited to remove mention of Jersey Giants since you don't want a heavy breed)

she is a good mommy also, a few months ago I gave her 4 chicks that were about 2 weeks old and she mothered them. She only has 4 eggs. Now to get my other bantam cochin to go broody. Their eggs are not fertile as them 2 girls do not have a hunny to love them. They are to small for my big roosters to get to them. Gonna be funny after a few weeks after they hatch the chicks will be bigger than she is. JG eggs.

Stray - don't worry about interupting us! We all suffer from Ad/Hd and can pay attention to many things at once...plus several of us are addicted to the Dew

Q's on quail - they are for eating and egg production. laying eggs at about 10 wks of age and slaughter at about 8 wks of age...these are not for hunting. there are some that will tell you they can fly but trust me they can't fly good enough for bird dogs.
