Lynn - That's great! I hardly have any birds laying right now. I'm not going to be able to go to Shawnee on Saturday or Sunday. I've got to sell a bunch of birds in Tulsa that day, so my plans have been changed. Are you going to drive through Tulsa to go to Shawnee? I was thinking you could pull through the Admiral Swap, which is where I'll be, and pick up your red quill hen. My plan was to be there at 6:30 a.m., but I could go earlier if you are on the road to Shawnee before 6:30. I also need to find a ride for a white orphington that's going to Donnie Saturday. If you are able to pick up the red quill, do you think you'd have room to carry Donnie's orp?

Betsy - I'm not able to go to Shawnee on Saturday as planned. I'm probably going to be asked to rethink keeping any banties, too, which means I'm going to have to postpone acquiring any lemon blue hens. I'm still moping about this, but I'm forcing myself to get over it quickly. I loved your story about Shilo and the Silkies. I hope our LGD (getting a GP over Christmas Break) will be as good with the birds as your Shilo.

Our wood burning stove can only take cords about 16-17 inches long, My dear dad, chops his wood at 20-25 inches, so I gather and chop my own, (we share ten acres with him, 10 miles southeast of Muskogee OK.) We still have trees on the ground from the big ice storm from four years ago.

sat in robin's new coop (artsyrobin) watched the easter eggers we have come in and start nesting in the new boxes. I am so happy they are using the new boxes, I am just sitting here beside myself.

Well guys found out why I have not received a phone call back from marie to schedule a time to get npip tested . I talked with curtis last might at the auction seems that from what curtis said that after working with marie for 32 years she is no longer in that department and they don't have her position filled yet dec 1st was her last day , but he is coming out to the house next week , and then will come back out when I get the hatching area situated to inspect it and have the hatchery certified as well .

Oh Coral, I'll miss seeing you. I know our plans change, and we just have to roll with it! Surely we'll meet up at leat at POOPS in the spring.

Someone was asking about GLW? I have two hens, just about to lay, so send me a PM if you're still looking.
Turns out I ended up two two more pullets in the final shipment from Sand Hill, so these two are looking for a new home.

Betsy - Victoria and I will be at POOPS for sure. Have a great time at Shawnee. I'm sure you'll have lots of admirers drooling over your birds (figuratively).

Anyone else still seeing snakes this late in the year? I saw a big bull snake dance out of his skin just before lunchtime today.
He wrapped himself around a tree, pulled through, and then he left what my friend's two-year-old calls a snake sock. Ick, ick, ick. It's freezing out there. Snakes should be elsewhere.
