Lynn - That's great! I hardly have any birds laying right now. I'm not going to be able to go to Shawnee on Saturday or Sunday. I've got to sell a bunch of birds in Tulsa that day, so my plans have been changed. Are you going to drive through Tulsa to go to Shawnee? I was thinking you could pull through the Admiral Swap, which is where I'll be, and pick up your red quill hen. My plan was to be there at 6:30 a.m., but I could go earlier if you are on the road to Shawnee before 6:30. I also need to find a ride for a white orphington that's going to Donnie Saturday. If you are able to pick up the red quill, do you think you'd have room to carry Donnie's orp?

Betsy - I'm not able to go to Shawnee on Saturday as planned. I'm probably going to be asked to rethink keeping any banties, too, which means I'm going to have to postpone acquiring any lemon blue hens. I'm still moping about this, but I'm forcing myself to get over it quickly. I loved your story about Shilo and the Silkies. I hope our LGD (getting a GP over Christmas Break) will be as good with the birds as your Shilo.

Lynn - I got your PM. I'm waiting for a reply from Donnie. If I can meet him before Saturday, he may be able to carry the red quill for you. I'm going to twist his arm a bit to see if he can carry two GLW to Shawnee as well

Hopefully, the Okie chicken train will be running on schedule and everyone will be able to get birds to each other. The helpful attitude toward others when it comes to transporting birds across Oklahoma is a great thing.

The notes turned out ok, it was so cold that the kids didn't really hold them, they just sat them down against their legs.

It was pretty cold. I rode in the truck instead of on the float.

Donnie - I sent you a PM. Thanks for all your help. I wish I could be carrying these birds to Shawnee myself, but I know you'll take good care of them, so I'm content knowing you'll be in charge of them until Saturday.

Lynn - Hook up with Donnie at the show. He will have your red quill hen.

FreezyFarm - Hook up with Donnie at the show. He will have your two GLW pullets.

Is anyone looking for Blue Polish, a Salmon Faverolles hen, a Partridge Rock hen, or a pair of all black Ameraucanas? I'll be taking these birds to the swap at Admiral this Saturday. Send me a PM if you're interested. I can take more pictures, too.

I would be interested in your partridge rock! I see you live in Haskell...that is at the end of my road! If you know where Haskell HS is, just follow that to the dead end and I'm right there.

If you would be willing to meet closer to the house, that would be great. I never get out to North Tulsa.

Shelly - I see from your signature line that you too have been caught by the NN "want to have them" bug. Are you looking only for pullets or are you also in need of a rooster? Are you looking for particular colors?

Good Morning,
There are so many kind folks on this thread. If Chickens (and other feathered friends) can bring people together, maybe the whole world should keep chickens. With the enableing skills around here I bet we could make it happen!
