I would never have thought that any snakes would still be active this late in the year, particularly with temps in the mornings being in the 30s and low 40s. A snake sock - what a descriptive way to view a shed snake skin. Children are often very bright in their observations.

Great to hear you are up and about in your truck. That must have been a great feeling. I recall after my heart attack I was thrilled when I could actually out walk the 90 year old ladies with their walkers in the morning mall walks. Seemed for the longest time they would leave me in their dust. And me a strapping young 50 year old at the time. Embarrassing.

Evening my Okie friends!
Well we have snow flurries tonight. The cold front finally hit the temp dropped like a rock! And it's here to stay for at least a week:oops:
My birds all looked good tonight when I fed. They sure slowed down on the laying since the cooler weather set in this week.
PoCo those are pert GLW s. I always like that breed.
Buster did you ever get back into birds or is the job still keeping you on the go?
I got all the decorations out and the tree put together then could't find the lights so I guess I will wait till tomorrow to decorate! Brenda did get started on some cards. The postal system wil make fortune on us this year.Who ever thought it would cost so much to mail a letter!
Hope someone comes home with some good auction stories tonight!

poco pollo good looking GLW's, Ihad some last spring but something put two, two foot rips in the pin and killed all 7 of them. They are pretty birds. I finally found someone with some LT Brahmas, am going to look at them tomorrow to see if they are what I want for sure. Still looking for Dk Brahma and Blue Orp roo's.

Poco- those are some beautiful girls! Wish i needed more, they are gorgeous! remember the paralyzed GLW i got at last poops? well she has grown into a beauty

i guess she is about 9 months old- not laying that i can tell though- i wonder if it has something to do with her 'trauma' of the dog attack? a only a few survivors, not that laying is a huge issue, when do GLW start laying?

Sorry I missed your post, had to go feed & get myself to the parade. The 4H group had a float & I was in charge of the kiddo's. Hope you are having a good day without alot of calls.....

Wayne you are way ahead of me, I have always put up my Christmas decorations up on Thanksgiving but still haven't got it done.......I have no idea when I will fit that in & I think this year will only be the tree and nothing else.

Wow, just reading about how much you do wears me out! What will you do with yourself when you get your house done?

I chopped wood and now I feel like someone hit me in a truck.

Our wood burning stove can only take cords about 16-17 inches long, My dear dad, chops his wood at 20-25 inches, so I gather and chop my own, (we share ten acres with him, 10 miles southeast of Muskogee OK.) We still have trees on the ground from the big ice storm from four years ago.

sat in robin's new coop (artsyrobin) watched the easter eggers we have come in and start nesting in the new boxes. I am so happy they are using the new boxes, I am just sitting here beside myself.

David you need to hit the pawn shops & find a good used chain saw, that is alot of wood chopping!

Then I will have to start cleaning up the mess that we have made all around the new house & all the other stuff I am not getting done now. The only difference will be that I can take it slower & not kill myself like I am now. Sleeping 10 hours last night went along way to making feel human again.
