Cold Joe how about you guys? We had 1 degree this morning! I took my little pig out a bowl of sour mash and malt-o-meal!lol.Chickens were clucking and crowing so I guess they are taking the cold well.

I can't remember if Smith's had it in their booth at the show or not.
They did have some big bottles of other stuff.
Locally all I have seen is the 16 oz size and the smaller one.

Hopefully they come back but if they are free ranging there are endless possibilities to what could have gotten them. Anything from the pig to a bobcat.
Foxes, coyotes and every other predator is out there looking for a winter food source.

Maribeth, Have you talked to your friend in MWC that was having the problem with raccoons?
Four more days till Daniel Boone gets out of school.

I looked at my Smith's Poultry book and they don't show that they even carry Wazine.

I hate to limit their running around time, but looks like we will go to supervised ranging and that will be very slim this winter! One thing about the buffs is they like to go further away from the coop than the others. We have access to our neighbors field that is more grown up than our yard and they love to go kick leaves over there. But it also puts them closer to the woods and the 40 acres of hayfield behind us and no telling what hangs out back there. I guess I was feeling too safe.

Monty - I am sending you an email with her name and phone number. I know she would appreciate any help in trapping those nasty racoons that Daniel Boone could give her.

I do have Black Cochins. They are not as big as the ones at the show. They are standard not giant. They are good size for standards and have great fluffy feathering. I dont usually do hatching eggs, mainly sell chicks. I wish I would have known as I have started cochins right now, about 2 months old and on the ground with a heat lamp.

LOVE all my Cochins that we have bought from you... Healthy and fluffy and let my kids pull them in wagons... ;o)

Actually, I think poultry would make a wonderful Christmas gift - and very consistent with the 12 Days of Christmas song too!

Wouldn't it be cool to get 7 swans a swimming, 6 geese a laying, 4 calling birds, 3 french hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree? Of course, you would need the 5 golden rings to pay for all of those

AnnaBell got the three silkies from the show for Christmas... She went to school bragging... ;o)
