My Ham comes out of the Brine Tomorrow, and it's looking pretty good, so yeah HAMski.

WOOHOO! Just got my first egg from the whites! I haven't gotten any eggs since September when all of my birds molted! Whoop!

I saw egg on the galvanized sheet that I'm using as a poop-catcher and thought "darnit!" I looked inside the cage and there was a perfect egg! It's now in a carton awaiting more eggs to go into the incubator! Whoop!

All of my hens are getting nice and red again after their molts, so I'm fairly hopeful I'll be getting some good eggs from them. The pullets, I'm sure, won't be laying at all until March or April.

Of course, all of my birds have the sniffles. They are on Duramycin-10 in the water and the worst cases get some injectible Duramycin down their throats. I hate the person who brought their sick birds to the show...ah well. They'll be better in no time.

I thought I would share some of the gifts that my quail have been giving me.

Here is the tiniest egg that I have ever seen, with a chicken egg and two other quail eggs for comparison:

Here it is in the frying pan. I figured it would be all white, but it did have a tiny yolk:

Then I found this guy when I was making deviled quail eggs for the neighborhood Christmas party. I've seen double-yolked chicken eggs, but this was new to me:
