Amazing week. My EEs are laying little pullet eggs. Most are almost neon green. I love the color. The Pekins seemed bored so I moved them in with a Barred Rock pair. The hens spend a lot of time together. I need to take my camera out tomorrow (if it's still light when I get home) and get some pictures of their best-girlfriend activities: sunbathing, sharing a snack, talking about the boys, etc. It's odd to listen to cackles and quacks and then see what looks like cooperation. Maybe they're using sign language.
Vesta has had her second round of puppy shots. She's grown to over 20 lbs. The vet is pleased with her progress. She's doing well with the chickens, but I haven't been successful in introducing her to the ducks or guineas without a major freaking out session. We'll have some play time and nap time outside the pens next week to reassure the birds that Vesta isn't a polar bear cub.
