Sounds like a rainy nite in Okla. We are supposed to get storms toward morning. *0% chance of rain tomorrow. And its strawberry festival weekend. We are from Adair C:hmmk. where Stilwell is known as the strawberry capital. We move down here to Portland,Tn and its the strawberry capital. We tell everyone,no the real capital is in Okla!
Had a hen hatch yesterday and one today. Set three more hens! Had some golden laced cochin bantams hatch. Boy they are cuties!
Anyone have any hookbill ducks? I have some babys located for $5 each. Thye are kind ugly roman-nosed things, but I like different stuff so will try to get some.
Take care and don't get blowed away tonite. Missing Okla. bad!

Teach : !!!!!! I put the quail eggs in the hatcher tonight and they have already started hatching, it is only day 16, how can that be???. Just in the nick of time I'd say, man are those some little buggars. So Thanks for the backup of eggs I got from you at POOPS it is saving my hind end as far as having some quail back.

Teach you da Man.

Good morning Okies - looks like we weathered another line of storms in OKC

Going to check and see how many quail hatched last night - two hatched yesterday - they sure are cute. Thanks, Teach!

There are a pair of blue jays flying around my back yard - I wonder if they are looking for nest material or food. I haven't seen them before.

Morning all. Lots of wind and lightning and thunder and of course hard rain last night but as far as I can tell everything is still standing. The 2 tractors that has the 3 cochins and a baby chick in are still in place.

Have to go out and check today and makes sure I think we have a JG gone broody, who would have thunk it. That is good but bad also, she is in the "favorite" nest and the other girls will just lay more eggs on top of her. I think there is at least 15 eggs under her. And my broody pen is under water right now so that is not an option.

Morning all...we are soggy but all in one piece- my integration of the chicks seems to be moving right along- funny to see the little roo referee between the girls-

and this fella was laying around watching us work on the coop- what kind is he? i don't mind him taking care of the rats and mice...

I am so excited! The eggs I got from POOPS (and some of the eggs from my own birds, that I set at the same time) were due to hatch Sunday.
Well, last night, I noticed one was pipped!
Today I have one Splash (or light Blue) Ameraucana chick out, and 9 more eggs hatching

That is a pretty big reason that I am only considering going off to college, I just cannot imagine not having chickens for so long

ronnie, if you are going to cull him, i;ll take it- why is a crooked beak a problem?

It can cause problems eating/drinking. And it is a defect (or disqualification) if you are showing them.

It has been several years since we ate in Duncan. Is there a place you recommend?

Goodners steak house, it is right on HWY 81 as you come through town it is on the left you can't miss it. A decent steak for a decent $, and it will not be out of your way at all.

AL

Didn't that place burn!...
