No matter what Ronnie of you want to make some Showgirls start out with the best quality birds that you can get. Silkies with 5 toes and good toe seperation and the nice fluffy look. Begin by breeding both ways Silie over NN and vise-versa and only keep the best to breed from. You might get 1 keeper out of 100 chicks Now when you do finally get a few Showgirls that you like breed them back to Silkies but if you SG to SG don't do it for more then about three generations as you will lose body type and the Silkie feathering.

I tried the olive oil thing. I got about 1 CC down her...and she sterted gagging and fighting me... I flipped her upside down and all this brown fluid rushed out of her...it was ALOT.... (who knew hens could hold so much!) The crop feels pretty much empty now... maybe a little fluid in the bottom...Poor girl...I got hepatitis A once... looked very similar....LOL.... Should I keep going until the crop is empty or let her rest? Where is Andi when ya need her... I'm stressed... I need a Xanax! Les... got the website... have been staring at it for the last bit.... I just don't get why there is nothing in the crop... Nothing to jam it up...

If the hen did get into some mold and got Botulism then it would paralyze the crop as long as the offending stuff was still in the crop. By clearing it out it will help her system start working again.

OK... The last time I flipped her upside down it ran pretty much clear and then she wouldn't throw up again.....I have her resting in the garage in the hospital cage...we'll see... she seems so out of it...

In a few hours she should be a totally different bird. She needs to rest right now. Don't give her any food or water just yet either. Heck I bet you both could use the rest come to think of it.
