Hi Sharon, I got my Lakenvelders from a guy at Perkins Named Brian Beard, (he hatches and sells Silver Lakenvelders, Barred Rocks and Americaunas), they are the Silver, they are pretty good color, need to work on the hens some, but that is what I plan on doing, i have One Cock and three Hens, they are a little nervous but I would say no more so than some Leghorns I have had, they lay pretty good right now, lay a medium size egg, I have a few pics of them but do not know how to load them onto this sight, could email them directly if you are interested, Lynn

Lynne one of many photo hosting sites is www.flickr.com just make an acount, click upload photos surf your hardrive, select photos, hit upload. After that right click the photo and there is an adress in there. When you post a message there is little buttons above the smiles. Click Img, it puts 2 squares where you type the message, copy and past the adress that showed when you right clicked your photo. Its easier than it sounds. Plus they resize the photo for ou so yoru not posting a huge photo.

thanks Lynn, maybe we can swap eggs sometime down the road some of my golds for some of your silvers.
I know what you mean on the hens color, I'm looking to keep the best pullets from my hatch. I've seen some hens that needed more black in the hackle and tail feathers and less on the body.

Just thought I'd let the fellow Okies know,that I chat with once in while, that I put my FIRST incubator together today!! I am soooo tickled. I've been reading everything on here about incubators so I can get it right. I guess we'll see in the next few days how it goes. Also got my first goose eggs today. I nearly flipped out they are so BIG!

FYI on POOPS

I talked to the KOA manager this morning and she still hasn't cleared everything with the owners about having chickens.

The owners are on vacation out of the country.
I will keep after them until I get an answer.

I still plan to go to Lexington tonight to check it out.

I could have gotten mine last week but I scheduled it for the 3rd so I could have help. Gotta round up the ducks and 2 turkeys for it also. This is gonna be fun. Anyone with a video machine want to come take a video of this, we might be able to win some money on Funniest Home Videos.
