AL

Now they can be fish feeders!

LOL yeah but I really needed those feeders, the girls were yelling at me to get in the house the storm is coming and I said I will come in when I see the funnel cloud. OOOHHHHH that went over real well, LOL. I had to do some serious damage control when I came inside LOL. Shheeeesh girls, those of you with only boys consider yourselfs lucky.

AL

I do consider myself very lucky! The only problem is there is still a mom around and she is very much a girl! She sees no humor in mud, going fast, funky smells, and basically all those things that guys love! The other day we found some mud and tried to go fast through it in a gator all while playing the fart game! She was not amused

but me and the boys loved it!

HEY! Not all girls are girlie. I LOVE mudding on the 4-wheeler and cleaning barn. It is after it is all done I want to shower!
I don't do my nails because it is a waste of time and money(for me). Chicken poo does not look good on freshly manicured nails!
My hair is up in a pony tail or under a baseball cap. I am about as redneck as they come!! I am very proud to be a boys mom. Getting dirty, hunting frogs, teaching a kid how to make underarm noises. Yep thats me.

I love my guineas and prefer them to my chickens. After reading "Gardening with Guineas" I decided that the trick is to get about a dozen at a time, preferably day olds, and then keep them penned up until they are about 2 to 4 months old. That way, they are bonded as a group and will watch each other's back in the yard, and will all come back to the same place to roost.

I have given guineas to friends in the past and the folks who were able to keep the young guineas at their house were the ones who kept them penned up at all times for at least 6 weeks. Then, the guineas knew where they were being fed and whose trees to roost in at dusk. The friends who let them roam after only a week or so lost their guineas to neighbors who also had guineas.

I just brought some guineas back to OKC last month, that a friend hatched out last spring. Her neighbor wanted guineas, but wouldn't keep them locked up for the 6 weeks, so the guineas kept migrating back to my friend's house.

Guineas rule! They will take on a rooster, a dog, a turkey - as a group. I love the way they eat bugs all the time and their noise in the evening is music to my ears.

All that said, I do have some that run up and down the fence all day long, trying to find their way back into the yard, because they don't remember that they flew over the fence. About dusk, they remember they have wings and back into the yard and onto the roost they go.

I need a new turkey hen................saying loudly a few dirty words........bobcat got her in broad daylight. I let them out around 10 am and by noon she was missing and we found her half eaten and buried. DH is building a trap to catch that booger now. My Tom is lonely, he keeps calling for her. Anyone have a Hen they want to sell me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......
