Okies in the BYC The Original

here in the frozen tundra it is currently 18 degrees!

Coturnix quail don't last as long as chickens...only a couple years and they are burned out but they are super prolific!

I checked on my quail and they are doing great! The snow is piled on top of the wire and they are insulated in an igloo...I am set up to handle heat, cold, a little snow or rain but blizzards...not so much! But they look like they will make it!

I'm lwith Big Al on this one... I was out doing hens and no wind... nothing. Then all of a sudden here it comes.... now it's about 30 mph! Hens are thrilled. (not) Mrs. Squeaky is on day 19... I put a heat lamp on her....should I bring her in the house? If they hatch will they freeze out there? HELP!!!!!!

I don't know about your chicks...I would be tempted to haul her in but you run the risk of breaking more eggs? With a heat lamp I bet ashe will stay put and comfy

Now we are getting a zang storm...? Bizzare....I cleaned a place out in my utillity room for her....can I change the whole nest? Or am I better to just leave her in her nest... I am afraid if I move her it will ruin everything....(I can make it nice and dark in there and it's pretty quiet)

We just had a big storm move thru. Thunder lightning and lots of rain. Then the sun came out. It is supposed to change over to snow later this afternoon. Plus 400 mph winds.
Thunder is still rattling my windows.
