OH my word.... I have a problem. I got a little overzealous when buying chicks. I would go to Atwoods and the bins of chicks were so gross, and they were ON SALE, and they had no water and well.... I couldn't help myself. So, I have a 8x10 coop with 30 standard and 10 banties. What do I do? I have to downsize and I don't know how. I love these little guys and I have been babying them for weeks now. Does anyone need any 6 week babies?

I don't know how I can decide which ones I don't want. I have such a variety and I love them all.

Thanks for your help

BTW- HAPPY EASTER God Bless you all.

That is one heck of an age span! We are planning on waiting a few years and having maybe three more spaced about the same as our three now, but we will see if that plan changes I guess

I know what you mean about the age I am almost 45 and I see my 5 yd old grandson every weekday. When he spends the night, I am like he is only one kids how the heck did I manage 4. By bedtime I am whooped. As he gets older he is getting into the powerful things...........driving the car up to grandma's (my moms), driving the tractor, now Papa taught him to drive the riding lawn mower.

Just 3 months ago the highlight of his life was "armadillo" hunting at night in the living room. Flashlight in hand blanket over their heads and Papa scratching on the wall.

Morning okies...How's life? We got some good rain last night, and the ladies are out grubbing for worms...it is still drizzling here and I can smell wet hens a mile away. Nothing stinks like a wet hen!

The lightning last night was amazing....Poor Mikey though is on call.... he was gone most of the night. We actually lost power here twice and had to use oil lamps for dinner (BBQ'd weenies). It was quite a light show...cloud to ground and bright!!! My favorite kind of zang storm...we had a gust front go through at the beginning.... but then NO WIND! It was kinda creepy... it has been windy here for like 2 weeks and the calm was a little weird.

Everyone seems low on the chicken front... I have tinkered with the idea of canceling all my peeps...Then my egg seller tries to bolster me up. He said if I quit selling they'd run him outta town. I have Monty's disease... I loved to hatch, but I also like having the hen do the work. They seem to turn out better, less issues. But then there is the egg side of things....Other than the bator... I have about everything organized to run without major costs at this point. All I have to do is fix my roof on my coop and paint the rest of it. Maybe I will just cut the order down....I need enough eggs to keep up with demand, give a few away and keep a dozen or so.... Oh who klnows.... I hate vascillating back and forth....brooding all those chicks scares me now that those four keeled over....but I figured the weather to be MUCH warmer by then....oh well....flip a coin......I figure I ma tired, I haven't felt well and I am grouchy, so now is not the time to make choices. I just wanna have fun with them.....my Polish are hilarioius....I had to baby them through the power outage....everytime their light went out there was an outrage... had to go give em a blankey to huddle in and put a flashlight on em....they are very sweet to me....they sit on me and everything. I love them.....Mrs. Squeaky's babies think I am the devil....LOL....

Happy Lord's Day to y'all... Hey praise God...He is risen! Nothing else really matters. I keep forgetting that we are living for "up there" not "down here". Puts things in perspective...eternity does!

Greybear - You're just a kid ! Bill is 69 and I'm 58.....and TJ just
turned 10 in February........LOL Have thought about coloring
my hair, but figure it would all be gray again within a week.
But, on the flipside, he caught me off guard this morning after
finding the Easter Basket that the bunny left.....and came in
our room and hugged me and said...."Thanks, Na-Na". Gees,
seems like yesterday I was putting flour in a pair of socks and
hopping around all over the carpet.......................

Have a Beautiful Easter everyone.

Good morning my fellow okies. yes the rain was nice, it was almost like normal rain I saw one time many yrs ago LOL. yeah some thunder and lightning but it seemed almost like regular weather, did someone play a joke on me or what. We got a bunch and the ground soaked it up like a sponge.

Happy Easter everybody, you may want to have the egg hunt in the house today. I trust everybody is well today.

This is gonna be fun at POOPS, when our gandkids say Nana, we will both answer. Yea I know what ya mean, just seems like yesterday...........

Oh forgot to mention Thursday when he came here after school, he was given a "ring"(its a key ring clip) and he said When he grows up he is gonna marry Olivia. I asked when will this be, he said next year when I am in the 1st grade.
