HennyP! Glad to read your newsy post - sorry about your nephew...geez!! Just think of hatching as a science experiment (if you can) so you don't get too depressed if you have a few bad hatches...I saw someone else's post on the BYC where their school grade was riding on whether they had a good hatch or not...bad thing to base a grade on, I'd say...too many variables to guarantee anything.

I went to the OKC Yard Dawgz VS. Rio Grande Dorangos Game At the Cox Convention center last night with the drum line.... It was so cool, we got to play our cadences out in the hall ways where the food was, do a battle with one of the other schools that got invited to go, and we also got to play once in the stands right before we left and were intro'd to the crowd. I'd want to do it again sometime.

Stray! I'm so excited to learn you're part of a drum line. I direct/produce the Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Stillwater (volunteer) and we are having a drum line this year. So I have some Qs for you. There was no band in the tiny HS I graduated from, so forgive my dumb questions.

1. Can a drum line walk and perform at the same time, or is it better if you're stationary? I want the Drum Line to lead our Parade of Athletes in, but if they can't drum & walk at the same time...might not be a good idea. I'm also asking them to perform on stage. (We're also having a Jazz Band perform and I was told they can't walk & play.)

2. If I ask the drum line to perform the cadence for the Presentation of Colors is that okay? I usually play this from CD, but I think it would be cooler if it was live.

(I am also an A/V Director for the Tulsa Talons home games - the Yard Dawgz are coming over here May 9 to be spanked.)

OK, I got all romantical and bought my bride a gift. A brand spankin' new lawn tractor. It's a John Deere with all the doo-dahs. She wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped but I believe she'll come around.

For our anniversary, I'm thinking "new post hole diggers". What do you all think?

Wise woman...she's learned it would take a big Zales box to fit PHD in. I keep thinking I'll go outside and do something useful, but I'll melt into a puddle of sugary goodness if I get wet.
