Morning everyone- got a dilemma or maybe a pullet with an identity crisis?? This morning this Cochin bantam was on my rocking chair cutting loose in the squeakiest squawk, now if she is a he.... that might complicate life... Snow the White Duccle, is my roo

so is she a he?? or just confused? here is snow...

I wish I knew where to find an inexpensive fan to turn one of the hovabators into a forced air incubator- the other one has a fan. Any suggestions anyone? Do I have to use one made specifically for a incubator or are there some computer fans that will work?

Man oh man, I worked 7p-7a came home and slept 4 hours, only to wake up to my husband and kids say "mama one of your chickens is outside with now head!" So, groggily I go outside and it was my Buttercup female my favorite one of all. She was so tame she would just follow me everywhere and fly up to my shoulder, I am sick. I left the top coop window open last night and it is about 12 feet up with no roof or tree anywhere close so I thought it would be OK....some times the lessons have to be learned the hard way. I want to scream or cry or something...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Ya know what? The first thing my husband said after "I'm sorry but, we are not getting anymore babies in the garage!" He knew I would want another Buttercup..The poor roo keeps looking for her. It is weird to me how breeds seem to stick together.

It is so odd, if it were one barred rocks I would have been sad but, I have 5 more to replace them. It would have to be a one of a kind. Oh, well I probably have more then I need anyway..I will know better then to leave the window open next time, or get a screen on it. I wonder if something got in and took her or did she fly out? I guess I will never know.

I wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the other mothers out there. My son brought me breakfast in bed this morning, and a wonderful chicken plaque for my kitchen. Life is good....despite the overcast skies, and rain showers this morning.
