I might have told ya this before...A friend of mine raised toy dachshunds. I could NOT find anything about then anywhere so I tried all kids of definitions to get them to come up.....I don't recommend typing in "Teeny Weenies" either...

Thanks for the warning...I learned the hard way to do searches before trying it in class

It was very bad. I had society finches in my classroom. We were curious what their scientific name was. We did not get pictures of society finches.

It was on a young ladies computer...I was typing. She screamed covered the screen...I couldn't hit the close button...

Very bad...very bad

Goodnight!

Naked Necks is another mine field for searches. Always place chickens afterwards.

The porn sites are supposed to have a certain range of URLs that they operate from to make blocking them easy for filters. To get around this the operators will buy a domain with a URL already set-up. It's a problem when there are kids around trying to do searches for homework and stuff.

It is hard for me to think in terms of genetic breeding being something for which a patent can be obtained. Interesting article - since broiler chicks don't have strong enough legs to support them when they are past butcher weight, I have always wondered where the hatching eggs originated - since the broiler hens don't live long enough to become egg layers.

That may take some thought i haven't heard of one yet, I am all thumbs so far on the genetic issues.

How are your Rocks doing this summer Stimp?, You getting any good propects so far?.

AL

Al,

I have 2 young cockerels and a pullet that show some promise. I'll be putting them back into the breeding pens. I just need to get some numbers on the ground. This has been the worst year I can remember as far as raising birds is concerned. But if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Wasn't that during the time that Lynn was in the hospital with his snake bite? If so, that would have been the week before the Blanchard auction I attended on May 23 - which should have them hatching out this week or weekend if I can count on the calendar. Of course, I tend to be "calendar challenged" and have to look at a year at a time calendar or I get lost in the count when I turn the page for the next month

You are correct, they should start hatching today thru the weekend at the latest.

Good morning, Tina
Wasn't that a dandy storm for a day that had only a 20% chance of rain yesterday! I know that forecasts are only the best guestimates of man and computer models, but I was laughing as the rain poured outside and the radar showed rain across central Oklahoma - and the forcast on the computer continued to show only a 20% chance of rain for that hour. I guess once the forecast is made, it doesn't get updated.

Anyway, the rain certainly perked up my plants.

Oh yea I laughed at the 20 % chance while it is raining. Oh yes it sure did perk up the plants, the corn is eating its nitro now and really starting to perk up. I just hope it is not raining in the morning when I go out to get the 2 test birds. I have kept them separated from the rest. I will probably keep them that way since they are small.
