Evening all :

Henny : Yes our weather guy's are allways young prepubesant little snotty nosed kids, the policy at our TV station is hire only the ones that graduate at the bottom of their class at run for hills storm school. I have learned a long time ago when I settled here is to learn how to forecast the weather myself, seemed like a good idea and has served us well.
Nice job on the rat, so it will be rat apitizer and possum main course for dinner at Henny's road kill cafe LOL, whats for desert??.

City/Beth : A floppy straw hat!!!!!! are you trying to get me laughed off the job site, I can see it now all my Mexicans calling me Miss Daisey. Your killin me here LOL.

Monty : PM me Bro!!!

Calling Bill Bailey!!!!.

Pepper 48-48/Charley : How did your family reunion in Altus go??. The DW had me in Whichita Falls for the day Shopping for something I still don't know what LOL.

Welcome ladyokie! Sounds like you need some brown & specks in your colorful flock! My vote is for you to get Speckled Sussex. Get a SS rooster to go along with your hens. Then I vote for you and me to be good friends, and for you to have lots of little baby SS chicks hatch out - all pullets, and too many for you to keep. You'll ask me, your good friend, if I would like to take some off your hands, and since it will be next spring by then, I will say "of course, dear ladyokie, I'll be happy to take some of your beautiful Speckled Sussex peeps!

Or if you want some darker red and don't feel comfortable being my best friend just yet because I come on too strong and am just plain weird, get Rhode Island Reds or some Red Sex Links - awesome layers!

Careful Ladyokie, Cityclucks is a Speckled Sussex tease.

Naked Necks of course!!! very winter hardy and will be out grazing when other breeds are in the shade panting like dogs! Good sitters and very good moms plus they lay a med to large brown egg.

That is hilarious!!!!!!!!! Maybe i should take him shopping! Instead I have his girlfriend here. He isn't near as much fun with her here. LOL.

Hey is everyone gone to bed? Al I have gotten some of those blue eggs from the quail I got from Teach also, they are cool. My young quail are almost to laying size, I have a friend that is going to build me some quail cages when I get the wire for them. He wants a start of them so we can trade some of it out! How is everyone else, I have not been on much lately, Henny how are the EE babies, I have quit hatching for a while and am trying to get the ones I have hatched up and into cages, looks like I am going to have plenty RIR roosters to go into the fattening pen and several Black Austrolorps also, the five Silver Laced Wyandot pullets I bought from Atwoods I think are all roosters, may be one hen in the bunch, kinda peeves me that I payed for pullets and got roosters even if I did get them with my wifes discount!!! Well have a good night all! Lynn

for all our new friends.
Now honestly if you are at all weaked willed or easily pressured this is the place for you. I like everyone here is a serious bird addict. So much so, I took a dozen chicks to auction on Monday because the brooder was packed with chicks and told my self "NO MORE CHICKENS".

I came home with a trio of Millies

. Uli does not know about this ok, I just put them in the chick pen so he is none the wiser.

In my defence he did not ask.

As you all bear witness to my level of addiction.

Speaking of addiction does anyone know if they are going to have the auction at Cement on the 4th? All my family has to work or will be out of town and that means I am free for the evening to do what I want to do.

And by golly I want to go to an auction.

Oh man, I just looked at the clock. Crud on a crutch I need to get to bed, I have to get up early.

Talk to you all later and try to keep cool tomorrow. It is supposed to be a scorcher.

Awesome! Chicken folks in Oklahoma!!! I'm a newbie. I'm trying to find people to talk to who are interested in chickens. So far I have hatched 9 spunky Barred Plymouth Rocks, 2 Light Sussex, and 1 Polish X. They are all 3 weeks old.

I've got Delawares in the incubator. They aren't due to hatch until the 25th.

I'm not going to bother with turkeys. Last week I bumped a wild turkey (not too hard) backing out of the garage. He looked pretty silly on his back, with his legs in the air, but he should have run when the garage door went up. We live on 80 acres of tall grass prairie, and the house has been vacant for a year, so wildlife out here really is wild. A lot of it doesn't recognize humans yet.

Give me pointers on the best places/forums/etc. on BYC. Thanks in advance!!!
