Boy I wish I could order up another couple days of this awesome weather. Hennies went crazy laying eggs!! The sweet ladies at my Bible study came running up to me and asked me how they were doing....I thought that was thoughtful!

Hope eveyone is still hanging in there. The weather makes such a difference... and I think my antibiotics are helping too. Feel like my normal self tonight (hide yer women and childern!)!!! Crazy hennies is making a comeback!!!

OK robin I have never delt with it but here is some info on it. Seems that once removed from the toxins for this long he should have gotten better by now.

Did a little research, apparently it isn't always fatal, but progresses to paralysis of the eyelids, then as they get better it reverses itself, the eyes, the wings, the legs- takes about a week. So tonite his eyes were open and he did eat some- it can be caused by bacteria in the water in summertime- so changing out the water through the day could prevent it- so hopefully in the morning he will be going the right direction- he is sleeping in the laundry basket by my bed- will check that link- be praying for him/her.

Teach I doubt you have been delicate since the day you were born!lol. Wish I was closer(by about two states!) I'd take your broodys. Since I haven't got a bator yet,thats how I do my hatching.
Glad your better Henny. Boy we are enjoying the cooler weather too!

The birds are more active and more fun to watch.

Al being the carpenter sort if you get time can you figure the demensions of the little coops they advertize that look like a little barn with a connecting little pen. I think I can build them but I ain't no good at figuring the demensions needed and the materials list. I think the site that shows them is Critters Coops. Appreciate any help.

Well finally got that last 20' of fence done!!! No more peep escapes!!! But I got bit up by ants!! Dang things....the fire ants left me be... but the little red ones they are evil. They all covered me... then started biting....I think they wanna see you do the dance. It's humid out here, how bout you guys?

Teach how did that school thing work out. Did ya take the test yet? You need to tell that broad there's only one Capstone.... and her test ain't it!! LOL... I love our Cornerstone.

I'm suppposed to start back up at the gym today... but I don't wanna. I'd rather scrape ceilings. Gotta go visit my mom, though. Was thinking about taking a nap first. Still gotta go do hens. They are so funny...they come over and ask what I'm doing when I'm working on the fence. The rooster comes over and bawks....when we were doing the roof he could NOT figure out how we got up there. He was just staring....it was comical.

I got a new piece for my turner and it works great. So my red eggs are turning away in the bator. I asked my sister about doing a hatch when she was here and she was all for it. Going to get a hold of Carla.

Good Morning Okies ! All is well here....well, except for the
noise level.......LOL They've already had Pa-Pa down to the
creek fishing and swimming. Chris is still "our Chris".

And, it's a good thing that you can't wear chicks out staring
at them...LOL Teach - we've got a box of 34 little quail hatched
already. Chris laughed till I thought he'd be sick. He watched
one hatch and take off running, with the shell cap still stuck
on his head and he couldn't see where he was going....LOL

Am soooo glad that everyone seems to be feeling better.

Oh my heavens Nana, that sounds hilarious... you should video tape then set to music. I have always wanted to do that. Video my hens chasing bugs to the "Chicken Dance". Just for fun.

well I guess I'm going to the Midevil Torture Chamber... then to visit my mom.

Has anyone heard from our loveable Wandering Wop? I hope everyone is OK...the heat is so-so here, but the humidity is horrible.

Poultry and Bees! I ain't forgot you on the buttons...just never got anymore! Didn't want to ship the ones I had cuz they were kinda old by that point and figured heck i will have plenty...aparently they went on strike!

Back to studying and chores...it is a bit warm here! No humidity though

I had forgotten about the button quail. As hot as it is, I would prefer to wait until Fall, even if your little darlings were laying an abundance of eggs. I am about ready to turn the incubators off for the summer ~ except I can't bring myself to just refrigerate and eat the guinea and turkey and duck and pheasant eggs ~ and if there should happen to be any more unbroken peacock eggs, I want to be able to put them into the incubator. Silly peahen seems to be laying her very infrequently scheduled egg while she is sitting on the roost 5 feet off the ground.
