Sooner I am sorry to hear about your loss I am having the same problem with my silkies the only difference is that they seeem to be killing there selves they are still young and shouldnt be overcrowded but they always seem to huddle in the corner why I dont know but that is what they are doing still got a lamp on them at night to make sure that they arent getting to cold but doesnt seem to help!!! But anyhow if I have any silkies left come poops time I will be bringing a load with me!

Quenston,
The kabins are nice, but tiny

John is a big guy too and it worked out ok for the 3 of us.
There is a full size bed on the bottom and a twin on top. The kabin we rented had a tiny little bathroom in it and a sink, no shower though. You have to take all of your own linens, sheets, towels etc. They have little front porches with swings on them and a picnic table in the yard. The best part was no phones or tv!!!

The kids had a great time riding these pedal cars that we rented! I think if we pooled our money on what we spent on the rent we could have purchase one of those cars.

Since it is going to be that late in September I wonder if the pool is going to be open? Shaun could swim anytime it is over 75 degrees but not me!!

Greybear, are ya wanting something fungi??? Just PM me and we can chat.
I saw in todays paper JM is having a huge mushroom sale to celabrate 30 years.

I actually caught that on a trot line there aint no way that I am gonna stick my hand in no hole that I cant see if there is anything going to bite me!!

You are a wise man. First time I heard of it, I had a brief fantasy of catching some behemoth by noodling, then found out in order to catch it, it has to bite you. Uhhh... no thanks!

I do want to try that trot line stuff, though. Love me some catfish! Some fish salesmen are going to be at our local co-op on the 12th with a truckload of fish, and I'm seriously considering stocking my pond with a hundred or so catfish. They'll have to be a decent size, though, to survive to adulthood with those bigmouth bass.

Shaun is the same way on the swimming deal!!

Let me check the chicken inventory and see what I am willing to part with!

John gripes about our feed bill, but when I talk about selling any he does not want to. So who knows.
What are you looking for?
I have some baby bantam cochins right now. Muscovy baby ducks (excellent for bug control !! REALLY)
I have Langshan eggs in the incubator right now from TJ's NaNa but I am not sure if I will be willing to part with any of them or not.

These have some good juju with them. They was picked up the day the boys won the Little League State Tournament and Shaun hit his Grand Slam homerun.

OOHHH after the fair I will have LOTS of chicks, EE and faverolle crosses ( daddy is a salmon faverolle and momma is black australorp or buff orpington or EE or, or, or). I am doing the hatching exihbtion(sp?) at the fair and I am going to sell the chicks and the money will go back to the 4 H kids.

Quenston - That is an AWESOME cat! And I thought mine was big! I reeled mine, it felt like it weighed as much as me. *haha* Where were you at when you caught that one? I can't believe it didn't drag your trot line down. *ha*

I'm gonna be a brat and post my picture. Ugh, didn't mean for the pic to be so big...

Buster - Yes, that was me sitting behind you. And don't let Al pick on you about the book! He's just jealous cuz he doesn't have one.

I have that same book, its awesome. But most the birds at Cement are mixes, so it doesn't do a whole lot of good.

Actually the size that you caught are better to eat than the big ones! I caught alot that size this past week~ we ended up coming home with almost 40 lbs of fillets so we should be set with fish for a while lol We were located about mid lake of Grand Lake when we caught that one

Quenston,
The hatching will be going on in the expo barn. I however will most likely be in the poultry barn. I bet we will have approx. 300 birds this year in the fair. Last day to enter is tomorrow, so we will know our numbers then.
Guess who gets to NPIP test the birds this year??? MEEEEE

Everyone that can try to make it out to the Ottawa County Fair. It is running August 18th through the 22nd. I can be found in the poultry barn or with the goats!!
