Okies in the BYC The Original

Hey everyone,

The ducks came from Murray Mc Murray Hatchery as part of a backyard bundle but they didnt say what the breeds were to be...

Not sure how much internet I have... we have net nanny installed on our computer and it has now taken over our computer literally and cant seem to get it removed...kinda scary actually especially since it wont let us scan our antivirus or access the internet... having to use the lap top and run the main house computer on safe moode... ARGGG

Hubby, son and father in law have gone to home depot to get the materials for the coop... Have an idea of what we are looking at, thanks to the fine coop idea pictures here on the BYC but not sure how great we will be at putting it together...so Al I may be hollering at you later... HA HA HA

The Museum site was a farm from the 1860's to the 1960's, so I am hoping to be able to show that with my critter exhibits.
personally, I am fond of Auracaunas, Americaunas and Bantams, (mostly Bantams!) my wife has recently become enamored of Seramas and the long tailed "ornamentals".
In regards to the POOPS get together, can somebody direct me to a particular post, or is there a website for it? It sounds like an incredible amount of fun, and a chance to meet folks and put faces to names! Is there camping available?
I have been reading the Okies in the BYC posts, and there are over 2000 posts! Ya'll like to visit, so I hope I'll fit in pretty well, here!

Hey ya bunch of Oklahoma nutcases! How's life? I got a wild hair yesterday and decided to paint the dining room as well....so I was up till 2:00 a.m. getting everything back together. Everything is pretty much done now.....up to and includiong myself. I overslept...hens weren't released from their prison until 9:00 am....There was almost a riot out there.

Teach, I think you could take the snake to church, easy. It is a visual aid. You know... the snake in the garden!! (wear clothes, you in a fig leaf might finish some people off.)

Dachs...my mom is in a skilled nursing facility. She is doing so well now I think people wonder why she is in there. But here at the house, I could not get her out of bed, I could not get her to take her meds, take a shower or use the restroom. I was ready to shoot myself. My sister lives in Utah...she took care of my dad...and tosses me some coin once in awhile. Works out OK...I have a brother in Ca. who (God help him) is in worse shape than my Mom after decades of drug and alcohol abuse. It's been a tough road....I had Mom for 4 years then a break of a couple years when she lived on her own. Then 11 years after that. She had a back injury in 1984 and I was doing all her stuff anyways so I figured she might as well live with me. I didn't know what I was getting into. I am not really a caregiver....Sometimes you just muddle through the best you can.....

I have the cutest wheaton peeps!!!! If I had not lost so many to infertility...I would have had a herd!!!!

Hey guys, BYC is looking for people who have certain breeds to create a breeds page. There is a free Gold Membership.
Check it out by going to breeds at the very top of the forum page.
Some that our folks have that BYC is looking for are Malays, Brabanters and Cubalayas. There is also a post Called breeders of rare breeds.
