Trying to talk him and my mom into going to POOPS with us but with their jobs they probably wont get to!

I remember a friend in another forum posting several years ago about a really murderous BO roo. Terrorized her family until they finally had to do him in. He didn't just frighten them, but injured them as well.

Good morning Okies! Hope everyone is doing well. I am really having a hard time staying away from atwoods with the baby chicks there right now. I keep telling myself wait for poops, need to have room for new ones when we come home.

Things here have been pretty mellow, wonderful weather. I love the cooler temps and so do my birds. Need to start working on the winter coop for the girls. That looks like a big chore, but we"ll get there.

Hope eveyone has a great Sunday.

Jason nice to meet you!

Good morning everyone glad to see everyone is doing well this morning!! I lost one chick last night which I was kinda expecting alwayshappens it seems when I get a large number of chicks. Well I am off to the flea market as well to see if I can find some cheap fencing material. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hey Peeps

How are y'all. Haven't had much time to post. Taking today off from church. They cancelled most everything for a special program, so we stayed home and drank coffee on the porch and enjoyed the cool and clouds. This weather is awesome.

Getting ready to unload some roos next weekend. I was so jazzed. I kept thinking that this weekend was Cement and Mike had to work...next weekend is perfect. Going to play clearance sale...every roo must go! Even EEs. Those are harder to sex, so I am just going to go with body shape and tail. Some are a bit bigger, taller and have higher tails. I wanna keep a rooster from the 6 wheaten Ameraucanas in the garage that just hatched out. I have one RIR that tried to peck my boot yesterday. I just reached out and grabbed him by the neck and squeezed until he turned a lovely shade of blue. He has given me a wide berth ever since!! My RIR roos are gorgeous! Taking both of them to Cement. I think I got 3 hens out of 11 in the the banty collection.

Oh well, at least Mrs. Squeaky and Aunt Fanny have a few hens for company....plus I like banty eggs better.....

Are anyone elses chickens molting yet. Mine started abpout a week ago. They are doing what I call the "PMS Stance" All puffed up glaring at each other....I opened up their round bale. Boy, did THAT ever cheer them up! I hate the stuff...it gets everywhere and I am so picky about keeping everything pristine in there. LOL.... That bale has been sitting there for 6 months. They have been using it to play "Queen Of The Hill". It's hilarious... they get in there and get buried...all you see is straw going everywhere....They huddle in it when cold weather comes too....Oh well so much for "No Clutter".

Hope everyone is doing good...NANA, if I found a copperhead that big I'd have to change my shorts! Holy cow! I was freaking out about the rat snake!!!

While my sis was here we went to an antique store in Mangum. I got a depression glass hen candy dish for $2.00!! The lady said it was mismarked...I was like no duh... she gave it to me for that price!!! There is another one that is purple carnival glass in another store, but she wants 89.00 for that one. Maybe I can get Mikey to get it for me for my birthday if the economy holds up.

Love you guys!

I have found that if you want non-agressive roosters don't handle them as babies. If you handle them they see you as one of their own and it's their job to put you in line.

If you don't handle them then they look at you as that big scary thing that comes around. But there are exceptions to this. (my disclaimer)

Well I set all of my POOPS eggs last night, 120 quail, 12 light Brahmas, 10 standard Cornish, 6 silkies, 40 Barred Rocks & Cukoo Marans. I hope I get a good hatch rate, all of these except the Cornish will be in the auction's at POOPS.

AL
