Anyone looking for chicks? I have a friend that has them running out of his ears. Anywhere from day old to 2 weeks.
Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, Dark Rhode Island Reds,
Brown egg layer crosses and a few other breeds.
He needs to move them quick and will make a great deal if someone wants to buy several.
let me know and I can get his number to you.
Thanks Monty

Cuban--Are you going to take names to tag chickens before you come to POOPS? I am interested in some if you do.

Buckguy--I would like to have the guy's number for the chicks. I'm going to the city this weekend and could pick them up them.

A Big Hello to all the Okies with chickens. I would have never guessed so many until being lead here. And happy to see so many folks with similar special creature interests.

This thread moves fast! I see by looking back a few pages, that there are fall activities being planned. If there is a sign up page or similar, please post its location.

Our family, myself, wife and daughter just put in the newbie howdy on the BYC site.

Thanks,

Mike (mdbokc)

Hi All,

Well, the coop is finally done. Just installed the final vent at the top of the North wall and broke open a square of staw & spread it on the floor. It has two 9 foot long roosts and 4 nest boxes, and the building has always had electric to it. While I admit it may sound strange, my coop also has a window AC unit, it was a small shop before it was a coop. So, my hens will have AC, although they may never get to use it

My wife called me from work today and said that there are a number of people she works with that want to buy eggs from us when we have laying hens. We'll have large brown & blue/green eggs as I don't have any white eggs layers. Of course it will be a while yet, I have 17 pullet chicks that are about a week old and 33 eggs in the bator that will hatch around the 11th, but her call did raise a question in my mind. See, there's just the two of us, so we'll have plenty of eggs and should have no problem having a surplus to sell, I just have no idea how much to sell them for?

So, if you're selling large brown & green eggs how much should a dozen sell for??

Cuban--Can you tell me the colors of the japs, brahmas, seabrights, silkies, and cochins? Are they full breed or did I not understand what you wrote? If I'm not careful I won't even get to "look" on POOPS day from speaking for birds before I get there. LOL

You know, I hadn't thought about that. We didn't have a set time last POOPS and it still worked great, so I guess that is what we will do this time too!
The raffle will most likely be held shortly after lunch.
Something else to consider is that the earlier your donation arrives, the more time people will have to buy tickets for it, but the exact time is not a "big deal"

That is so cute! You should definitely bring it (and any of your other chicken crocheted item) to sell at POOPS - you don't even have to donate them (all;)), if you don't want too

KT, sorry about your chickens, but I don't think I have any good advise to offer

Thanks! I know what you mean and that's why I am planning on having only half the pens/chickens I have now....once the Fall shows are over
