Tara, I didn't realize it was just the Cubalaya roosters you were talking about

Yeah, a longtail without a tail might be a bit humorous!
If you haven't gotten a catalog yet, maybe you should send Bo Garrett and email....

Question....Noone will answer me in the other rooms...I'm thinking about ordering some hatching eggs from someone in Arizona...How do they not go bad whiling be shipped to me? How long do they stay fertal ? And when are they bad?

Quote:
As long as they're no older than 4 days before being shipped, you should be fine. The weather's cooled down enough that they probably won't spoil. The only thing you have to worry about is them breaking/cracking/or otherwise being damaged during shipping.

I am trying to put together a list of birds I will have for sale at POOPS time. If you are seriously interested in buying one (or more) of these birds, please let me know! I will not be bringing any birds that I do not have a buyer pre-aranged for.

White Pekin Drake, 4 months old but already really filled out! I entered in the County Fair and won 1st and 2nd. Two available. $12 ea.

Andaulasian cockerels. Around 4 months old. Blue Splash, White Splash, or Black. They came from okiehen, if you would like to see the pictures she has posted of her pretty birds. $6 ea.

Ameraucana rooster. Black and White, 6 months old. He is sweet, and pretty and all that good stuff, I just have too many roosters. $8

"Spitzhauben Bantam" project bird. His mom is a silver spitzhauben, and his dad is a silver spangled hamburg bantam. He is almost a perfect cross between the two, in color pattern (which is very similar on both breeds), crest, size, and shape. He is also very nice towards humans! $12

Henny, the blood in poop and droopy wings could be coccidiosis. It usually strikes quite young birds, but it has be soooo wet, it could be hitting older birds as well. Sulmet is one of the medications that could help, but the sulfas can be rather hard on poultry, though often used. If you could get some Corid, that would be better. It has been very hard to come by, but Atwoods now carries it, maybe TSC does also. It wouldn't harm them if it isn't coccidiosis, but you probably need to act as quickly as you can.

Good evening fellow Okies!
Well life I hope is settling down for a while at least. My well pump went out on Tuesday but after $700 I now have water.

I am getting the coloring book together for POOPS. Just a side note some birds are represented more then others, hope not one is offended. Our librarian at my school graciously took time out her day to find me a wonderful selection of books to read to the kids at POOPS. I have been practicing reading them to my students. Bless their hearts are they being tolerant of there poor crazy teacher. Speaking of POOPS

I have a list of what birds I am bring to POOPS. I have at least one bourbon red tom maybe two if there is interest in both of them. I also have a bourbon red/blue slate (sunflower so I have been told) hen for sell. They are about 7 months and are big beautiful birds. I have an americana rooster who is quite the sweet gentleman. He is yellow, grey and white. I may have some more cochins available. Not sure at this time. If anyone is interested in any of my birds send me a PM.

Oh and if I for got to mention before I am really excited about POOPS!!!

The only thing my hens have been eating as far as chicken food is the medicated grower. I have seen no more bloody poop... and I fear that wing may be broken, though she doesn't cry when I mess with it and managed to get on roost. I am getting rid of the straw ASAP...too much rain. Usually I only take what I need off the bale for nests... this time the whole bale collapsed and then I tried to move it and well... the rest is history.
