It's mostly the nurses, traffic control, and EMS people coming in. I may end up with the flu because of it!

We saw them at the Long Beach Convention Center. All I remember is my sister's friend ogling Jim Dandy the whole time through binos saying she could see everthing in his tight white pants...

(She was a real winner. She went on the parachute drop at Knott's Berry Farm in a dress with no underwear.) I just wanted them the heck off the stage so I could see B.O.C. and hear Buck Dharma play "Last Days Of May" on the guitar.... Donald Roeser...No one played like him...

luvs2garden - Prayers for your friend Mary, and you and her family.

Betsy - Thank you so much for the offer! You are quite a ways from me, but if Carla doesn't have something for me I would definitely love to have another of your birds!

Andis - So sorry to hear that your poor girl didn't recover.

But now you know you are strong enough for a new market. I could never process a chicken, mine or anyone else's!

stimpy - I go to a university that has the population of the city I live in... If I'm gonna get the flu, I think its unavoidable! But I am not gettin that shot; I've never had one, I'm afraid I'd end up gettin the flu from the stupid vaccine.

What is up with this so-called cold front!? The wind quit blowing, they said the front's already come through, and I'm still wearing shorts!

Before they leave, make them leave the bathroom door open so you can witness them washing their hands with hot water and soap. And get you one of those paper masks to wear. They're all carriers until you know otherwise.

If you want them to eat the laying pellets you have to take everything else away from them. I was doing the same thing, feeding them everything and they wouldnt eat their layer. I am now giving them only layer in their feeders and in the evening I go out with a handful of scratch for each pen. I will be giving them 2 or 3 handfuls of scratch come winter. I have been doing this for 2 weeks and already have seen major improvement in their laying.

Do you think that will work when they are still foraging as much as they are? I just don't want them to get skinny--already a few a re skinnier than I want them to be (we got them this way)

If it were me I would keep them put up, let them out for a few hours in the evening or at least not let them out til late afternoon, this way they will eat the layer first. The layer has everything they need. Mine are on 18% layer.

Gracefulbantams- Hey this idea may be totally crazy or already mentioned and I missed it, but, have you considered incubating your Hamburgs eggs even if they are in the refrigerator?? That is if you have any....

I have heard of people incubating refrigerated eggs after they have lost their flocks. They let them come to room temperature before putting them into the incubator. They have had some success from this.
