Before they leave, make them leave the bathroom door open so you can witness them washing their hands with hot water and soap. And get you one of those paper masks to wear. They're all carriers until you know otherwise.

I am now giving them only layer in their feeders and in the evening I go out with a handful of scratch for each pen. I will be giving them 2 or 3 handfuls of scratch come winter. Gracefulbantams- Hey this idea may be totally crazy or already mentioned and I missed it, but, have you considered incubating your Hamburgs eggs even if they are in the refrigerator?? That is if you have any....
I have heard of people incubating refrigerated eggs after they have lost their flocks. They let them come to room temperature before putting them into the incubator. They have had some success from this.
