Please pray that I can be tough and get through all this. I have to get better.

My idea of a fast remodel job often includes either Cats or backhoes. that's the quickest way to get things done.

The wife bought me a big sawsall at the Jones auction one night, the head where the blade goes in was broke but the saw ran just fine. I think she paid around 4 dollars for it. Anyway I got on the website for Bosch and the parts to fix it cost 29 dollars. Not bad for a saw that costs a bunch new!

I would be happy with the flu at this point. I will be taking these for at least a year.

I love the little two level coops everyone is building! I can't wait to start mine.

Ya my sister keeps saying she will pay the 50 cents for me to ride the bull at WalMart.

I have seen more adults than kids on that thing. Lol

I'm back in town, but the local wildlife is working to make it feel like the country. A couple nights ago a skunk was sitting on the front porch with the cats, waiting for cat food. Tonight when I took the trash out there was a possum sitting on the back porch waiting for me! I swear they smile at me before they saunter away.

Too bad Bodacious is not still living. Every now and then he would make appearances at Atwoods and you could get your picture taken with him for 5 dollars.

For those that don't know Bodacious was the rankest bull that ever was. Well in the arena anyway, all other times he was a kitten!

I've got a lot of them. The wife and I used to cut Cedar when there was a mill up in Dover so we always kept spare saws with us. Yep they are mighty handy. Need a hole for a door? In just a few seconds you will have one, and if you keep the chain sharp it will cut as accurate as a circular saw.

NN breeder do you ever have a NN that Just has to always be a Mom I have one that has gone broody 3 times since April. She raised the chicks up about 1 1/2 months then goes broody again she is driving me nuts with this but she is a good mom only thing is as soon as one or 2 chicks hatches she gets off the nest while the cochin broody I have will sit and hatch then stay on the eggs almost another week problem with that is any late babies have not made it so far I thihnk the mom goes off with the olders and sometimes forgets that there is a little one or two trying to keep up.

Also is there any kinda of fatal gene that is believed to have anything to do with NN I have 2 hatch and die the same day out of this last batch and one hatch part way then quit and die. They were all 3 little NN babies. Just wondering if it was coincidence or posssibly the breed all other chicks from this broody are doing fine.

It was often said that the gene that causes the NN is a fatal gene.

When line-breeding birds for show as you got down the line often times the mortality rate of the chicks would go up. Plus they would lose their shape and stance.

NNs are not well known for broodiness but I can tell you that they are. It's unusual that she left the nest though, most will sit for about three days or so after the first one hatches. Might take all but three eggs from her and incubate the rest.

Classes are held in June for 1st timers. You have to re certify annually. I'll look up the website for you.

Edited to add:

Call (405) 521-3864 to get on the class list. This is through the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry.

I think you only have to recertify every three years; at least my certificate runs from 7/13/07 to 6/30/10. Les, Teva, and I will probably be in recertification class next June??
