The Idabel show was a great success!

I (well, everyone who did show!) had a bit of an advantage this time since a couple of exhibitors did not show up meaning there were almost 100 empty cages! But, there were still some nice quality birds there... and from some great breeders!
I didn't intend to bring home any more birds, but ya know how that goes

First, it was a stunning Black Cochin bantam cockerel from a top-breeder, then of course that rooster needed the two pullets that were for sale from the show's president. And after a day of visiting with a very nice gentleman who raises very nice Silkies, I'm totting home a pair of Splash Silkie (the pullet is split Lav) Bantams! I am now the proud new owner of Cochin and Silkie bantams

Henny:hugs It wasn't all your fault. We all get carried away and forget we're not sitting at the auction shooting the breeze with one another sometimes. I guess thats because we are all so close and feel like family here.
Sold my silkies today at the auction and some extra roos! Need to make more room for all the new breeds. I am afraid my new modern pair may be a pair of roos!

Have to get my nail and string and do some dowsing I guess!

First off Henny, no worries. You are alright girl. None of us mean any harm.

I can't wait to hear what everyone got at the auction.

Grace GREAT job! Glad you had fun. Are you going to the FAyetteville show?

Q when will you post pictures?>???? You know I need to see pic's.

I am sitting here making a cage to haul chickens in. If it turns out I will post pic's. Not sure how that will work taking pics of wire......

Grace congrats on the wins and the new birds, it sounds like you had a great day!!!!

Sooner I will, right now it looks kinda bad because I dont have it trimmed out or painted but when I get the finished product I will post pics beginning and ending

Congratulations Grace!

Tomorrow we start work on the new coop! It has gone from plans to house a couple (3-4) standard chickens to enough material to build an 8X8 run with a 3x8 coop attached. Will post pics when we have it ready.
I think we decided to put it in the pasture with the donkeys to help keep pests at bay.

Sounds like I have a brooder escapee. Will check back when I can. Have a good evening!

No worries, Hennies - we love you!

Hey Quenston - my day was good - the sun was out - FINALLY! I laughed when I read your bit about "barnyard mixes" at the auction - this time last year I wouldn't have known barnyard mix from porcelain D'uccle...!

Dachsunds - when do you come to OK?

Grace - Wow!! You are so awesome - I'm so glad you bought some more SQ chickens! And kudos to your dad for de-predatorizing your place!
