I hope that everyone has a great one, enjoy Okieland dachsunds.

Hey City, I did notice that a few people were looking for definitions of terms. I saw a better one somewhere else once but here's one I found... a chicken dictionary. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=2135#p2135 You are around more than I am so when somebody asks, you might steer them in that direction.

Thank goodness I'm not all alone - hello Kevin and Stephanie!

Thanks Kevin - it is sweet of you to find that thread! How have you been? I've been working out a client location all week, so I have had to pretend to be professional and diligent...

Engie, thanks to you I'll at least know the dog's name when I go to Tulsa Feed - will probably be sometime next week.

Bye Kevin! Thanks for checking in!!

sounds like the Dr. was not in a good mood kids just get sick he should know that they are around a lot of people and do not have a good immune system

i figure the dr is clueless on the h1n1, as i know of other doctors that are taking it seriously after losing patients to it- as far as his attitude- my guess is the dr just got reamed for something and you were a scapegoat! i am glad she had neither flu's, as far as raw milk- that would be impossible to find around here, unless we raised our own goats or cows- not sure if my take on it helps at all, but after dealing with navy drs for 20 years, i got so much of what they criticized was their problem, not the family- ok, off my soap box....

we had a good day working outside- except for this...

Hi everyone! After going to the feed store & tag office at work. We have fed the chickens, played & held the show chickens & walked the goat. Now I have my sweet husband making me some fried potato mix! Yummmy

my daughter started doing that, and says suddenly the kids with skin allergies don't have em anymore- what recipe did you use for it?

Wow Robin - I hope those icky wasps didn't bother Dave while he was working - do you have anything to spray on them to get rid of them?

Engie - I have a (very) small event and video production company. Really it's just me and whatever freelancers I need for a specific project. Actually, it's been rather nice to have somewhere to be every day - keeps me from sleeping in then spending the day in my jammies.
(I'm not saying that I would actually ever really do that...!

The probably are not actually "swarming" but it looks like they are cleaning up any sweet residue on the hummingbird feeder. I guess they are bees, and trying to lay in some food for the winter. That top thing resembles a wasp and if they are wasps, all bets are off as I am fairly clueless about them except that they don't do anything according to rhyme or reason.

Honeybees won't try and sting you unless you are close to their hive and they are defending their brood (baby bees) or you are off somewhere and swatting at them.

Fried potato's fried until almost done, throw in onions, meat (bacon, smoked sausage or ham) then at the very last eggs, fried until the eggs are done, it is awsome. I will never learn to make it as my hubby fry's potato's nice and crispy where I turn them to mush. He also knows how to drain the grease at just the right time before the eggs.
