Definitely get Aurora to the hospital if she gets worse or doesn't get better.

I think it would be great to tell the TV folks about our group of Okies ... but you don't need to name me ... just say from a fellow Okie would be nice

You were my biggest turkey customer and I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with many more buyers

Good to go, when do you plan on meeting up with Christine Stowers to pick up your birds ??. Charley That is going to be one awesome show, you must share what you learn there talking to all those old Cornish breeders.

If you sold some birds at an auction recently, the state may have had someone there taking samples from all of the birds. The state gets your info from the auction owners.

Bingo! We have a winner! I just checked the date the swab was taken and it was the day of the Fletcher auction. Al and I saw the ag department truck there, but I didn't think much about it. Didn't see any official looking people there.

So does this happen a lot? I mean, this was the first time I had even sold anything at an auction.

The Dept of Ag doesn't do that at every auction, but they do try and spot check the birds at auctions, since it wouldn't take much for a few infected birds at an auction to spread something across the state by virtue of people attending the auctions and possibly taking home infected birds. They are only doing tests for Avian flu and the NPIP test for pullorum and typhoid. I wish they tested for some of the things that cause the upper respiratory infections in our birds, but I don't know how easy a test like that would be to administer.

I have developed some Rooster Viagra for my Cornish men and have been feeding it now for a couple of days, too early to see any improvement though.

I thought all roosters were born with Rooster Viagra. This will be interesting. Lol

Buster - So sorry you have to work! Take frequent breaks outside. If you're not a smoker, pretend you are. Lol

My dear sweet Egg Man isn't feeling well tonight. He was complaining of feeling tired, his entire left side feeling tingly, and then a sinus headache, and pain behind his right eye & chills. Luckily, the left side stopped tingling, but the cold pill he took earlier didn't help his headache & pressure behind the eye either. So, he still wanted to go to work, but after we got there, I got a phone call from him that he wanted to go home. He told his boss about his not feeling well and bossman told him to either go home or he was going to call an ambulance ... they like to threaten like that!

Anyway, I drove Gerald to the doc, & luckily they had a cancellation & saw him. Doc gave him antibiotics, did bloodwork, and said his heartrate & bloodpressure seemed normal, but that he thought Gerald might be developing a sinus infection. He's got a leaky heart valve, but Doc didn't think his heart was causing any problems. Anyway, Gerald is home getting waited on tonight ... only a little bit though ... he's tough.

I will try and share what I learn but remembering everything is thing. I have started setting the eggs I am getting. I will know on the 12th if they are any good. Christine said that she doesn't AI either so, we will see. I think the the roos that we picked up were too young when we got them. That was why mine wasn't crowing and all. He is just now getting spirs.
