No, they didn't test him for the flu. Probably should have, but he's not running a high fever. I hear that flu test is not exactly fun to have done .... most people say it's extremely uncomfortable to have a long cotton swab used on them.

I sure hope he doesn't have the flu and he bounces right back. HE MUST! There has to be garage sales I want to go to tomorrow morning & then a Tuttle Tigers football game tomorrow night!

Carla : Sounds like Gerald has a bad case of Auction withdrawls since he hasn't been in awhile LOL, Tell him to get better and tell him I said thats an Order !!!!! LOL.

Charley : sounds like you are all set then. I hope her birds do well and you can have some ribbon winners in your pen's. My Roosters are plenty old enough they have good spurs on them.

Cammie : Mine need a little nudge to get them in the mood LOL, they need to be more frisky.

Hennie : No pilfering allowed, Back away from the Gobblers Maam !!!!.

Bingo! We have a winner! I just checked the date the swab was taken and it was the day of the Fletcher auction. Al and I saw the ag department truck there, but I didn't think much about it. Didn't see any official looking people there.

So does this happen a lot? I mean, this was the first time I had even sold anything at an auction.

The Dept of Ag doesn't do that at every auction, but they do try and spot check the birds at auctions, since it wouldn't take much for a few infected birds at an auction to spread something across the state by virtue of people attending the auctions and possibly taking home infected birds. They are only doing tests for Avian flu and the NPIP test for pullorum and typhoid. I wish they tested for some of the things that cause the upper respiratory infections in our birds, but I don't know how easy a test like that would be to administer.

I might be the blame to that one. They asked me where the guy I got my turkeys from sold at. I knew he sold there and Jones and maybe Blarcherd, sorry guys.

I bought some injectable Ivomec...now, to worm the chickens I need to give how much? I am a bit confused as I have heard of it being given orally, by injection, or topically. Anyone know? I can do any of the three methods--I am no stranger to treating critters.

Carla - So sorry to hear Gerald isn't feelin too well. I think its not necessarily auction, its sales withdrawals!

Al - If I were built like a Cornish, I think I'd just give up.

I know but if she is showing the ones you will be buying it would be nice if they won something before you buy them.
