That is good to know! So if a judge (like at your last show) places a nonrecognized breed as Best of Class, just say you got lucky

Donna,
Pic #1 Roo.

I am not sure what this one is.
Pic #2 speckled hen.

I am not sure what this one is either, but she is Splash colored.
Pic #3 Is this an EE on the right?

That is a Buff Brahma
Pic #4 Speckled hen in the middle

Cuckoo Marans
Pic #5 Is this a Sizzle?

A Frizzle. A Sizzle would have a crest and possibly a beard, since it would be half Silkie.
Pic #6 Is this a standard cochin or can you tell. She's really a beauty.

Yes, she looks like a big ol' Cochin

Donna,
The first two are splash somethings and whoever said Orpingtons is probably right. They are rare.
The Gold one with the black neck could be a Buff Brahama or Buff Cochin. Does it have feathered feet?
The barred speckled one is either a Barred rock or a Cuckoo Marans. What color are her feet? Yellow or white/grey?
I don't do frizzle schnizzel pwhizzles.
The big white one is probably a white Cochin. Can't remember now but doesn't it have feathered feet?

Hey, BarnSwallow, I know this is a couple pages late, but the best site I know of on simple living is http://www.simpleliving.net/

Lots
of good information and inspiration on the type of simple living you are talking about (as in simple does not necessarily equal easy). They do have a forum that I follow regularly, but it in no way competes with this forum. But that isn't the primary thrust of the site. Lots of good resources.

J and I are taking the kids to see the lights out in Chickasha tonight (yeah, I *wanted* to go to Cement, but this is J's last weekend that he'll have free & have his son over the weekend before Christmas... we figured we'd do the "right" thing and take him to see the lights). We're wanting to go to Jake's in Chickasha while we're there. Anybody want to weigh in and tell us if it's on the way to/from the lights in town?

Will it be green?

Well I am going to strip it out except the dome lights and I will use a photovoltiec do-dad off a fence charger to charge a small sealed battery and put it on a timer to come on at 4am. The back windows on the Caravans open so if I can find an inexpensive opener for a greenhouse vent I will hook that up to open for heat release on sunny days.I am going to put a bottom in the empty engine compartment for feed storage and take the hood latch off and hold it closed with the rubber type off of a truck.

Overall it will probably be cheaper to just buy a new van and let the birds live in it. LOL

If anyone has a need for a cheap 3.0 V-6 that runs fairly well give me a shout. The tranny was out on this one.

Yes, and if the humidity gets high enough it doesn't even have to be down to freezing temps for them to get frostbite.
