Hey Guys, How do tell a Welsummer pullet from a Gold Salmon Maran?

Just trying to figure out some of my Atwood specials. I've always assumed they were Welsummers. But I just ran across some pictures of the Marans and now......well.....I don't know. Dark eggs for sure!!!

I just realized, I'm not an egg anymore. I've hatched!!!!

I guess that makes me a chick now.

Good morning! Looks like a warmer day today than yesterday. At least we can begin the day above 20 degrees with a possible high of 45 degrees. So once I get the water unfrozen this morning in all those cute rabbit cages, it will stay unfrozen. At least the chickens have larger, wide tubs so it only takes a few times of upside down, smash with the heel of the boot and refill with water to get them squared away for the day.

Hope everyone is able to put on enough warm clothing to stay warm. (I was wearing a sweater, a jacket and a muffler in my office yesterday - at least I expect to have to stay bundled up when outside)

Faerie - a Q-tip with warm water is the fastest way to remove poo from pasty butt chicks. The entire chick doesn't get wet that way.

I need more coffee. Woke up late this morning... was finally able to get comfortable/get some sleep last night, then I overslept today. Good thing J is off Fri/Sat so he could take his son to school.

Hrm. I don't think this is enough.

Maybe that will work.

Good morning everyone..... Looks like it is going to be much nicer outside today. Hoping to get alot done today, first thing on my list go shampoo my sisters carpet. Her and her husband just bought a house, so my mother and I are going over to help clean it so they can start moving things in this weekend, I'm on carpet duty.


Faerielady - I noticed your birthday is the 28th od December. It sucks to be a Christmas baby. My birthday is the same day, When I was young my family thought my birthday and Christmas present should be the same, my mother fixed that. Then I get married 3 days before christmas, what was I thinking... Know my husband thinks our anniversary, my Christmas, and my birthday present should be all rolled up into one.

I did have it easier with my parents/siblings growing up... they don't celebrate Christmas. However, my birthday is always the one that is forgotten by friends unless THEY have a birthday around this time. You make the 3rd person I know whose birthday is on the exact same day

However, I don't think anybody is taking me seriously about wanting (more) chickens for my birthday...
