P & B - Hubby is real busy at work tonight, so he called and asked to go eat at Taco Mayo. Lol. If the power goes out it won't matter if we have the microwave or not!

I can't believe they change the map AGAIN! The wind just picked up here, its blowing like crazy! And I have to go drive the big truck here in a few minutes.

Now it looks like we are ALL getting 3-9"!

This week has been so busy for my parents and hubby (hospital and police.) With all the families together for the holiday, everyone's trying to kill each other and themselves... Lol.
I guess that's not very funny, but you gotta laugh about it!

Thunder-snow? Mike Morgan just said thunder-snow. I think I want that to be my new subtitle. Lol

Thunder-snow would make Henny happy - she likes thunder storms and is wanting some snow as well.

Speaking of thunder and lightening, I wonder how Oklahoma Lightning is doing. Haven't seen her post since she was scrambling to get her Thanksgiving turkeys processed.

County - at least with the big truck you won't get blown off the road by the winds they are predicting. You may need to stop and get some granola bars if you are concerned about a power outage. That way, you won't starve.

Okiemommy - my grandsons brought me a "Christmas present" this evening. A half starved kitten that they found in the parking lot where they went for supper. It is now keeping Rattler company in the workshop. I hope Rattler teaches her how to behave.... like shows her where the litter box is and what it is supposed to be used for

I thanked the grandsons and told them that we now have "plenty" of cats.

Hey all! Been a busy day, and it ain't over, yet!

Had to take the younger daughter to Broken Arrow this morning. Left at nine, didn't make it back until 3:30. That really messes up your day.

Going to make the grandkids some pj's for Christmas. Daughter had the first set cut out, and I sat down at the sewing machine, and it would only sew BACKWARDS!!!

We messed with it and messed with it and cussed it and cussed it - and suddenly, it starts beeping up a storm... then silence. Uh Oh! I thought we killed it, but it's working fine, now. Nearly got one full set made. Only four more to go!

Grandson told me all he wants for Christmas is....NAKED NECKS!

I nearly fell over laughing. He said it was such an evil grin. I don't know which he likes better, the breed or the name! I had to tell him Santa wouldn't bring him any chickens because he doesn't have a coop and run ready for them. He was pretty dissapointed. He wants to get busy on the housing right after Christmas. So... he wants Santa to bring him some tools and lumber for Christmas.

I think I've created a monster!

I'm now out of the 2nd job business. At least for now. Yeah, may have a hard time paying some bills for a while, but I'm gonna regain a modicum of sanity and get more time to spend with my daughter.

Going outside to feed the animals... yes, I am aware that it's almost 11pm.

County,

I'm looking forward to the snow too. We always send the grandsons on a scavenger hunt for their presents. This year, the first clue is in the 4-wheeler shed. From there, they'll have to travel a couple of miles to find all the clues that will lead them to their gifts. A few inches of snow will add that much more fun to the hunt. They'll be frozen when they get back here.

This year will be the first year for the oldest granddaughter too. Her clues are a little easier to follow, and a lot closer to the house, but I think she'll enjoy it.

I remember that my grandma always made us flannel nightwear for Christmas. The girls got a long sleeved nightgown with a ruffle around the bottom and the boys got pajamas. They were so much nicer than anything we could have bought. Sure glad you got the sewing machine in a forward motion again. Sewing 5 sets of PJs in reverse would have been a nightmare.

your grandson is definately all boy if he wants NNs - and it probably is the name as much as the bird that he is enchanted with. At least he was willing to ask for the tools and materials he needs to make a home for his Naked Necked chickens, instead of pouting because he can't have what he wants....... yet.

My mom was a great seamstress. When I was a wee lad, she made all of our school clothes, and they looked better than what most of the other kids were wearing. But I was always concerned that the other guys knew that I was wearing 'home-made' clothes and it really bothered me. So mom, in all of her wisdom, started sewing labels and 'fruit loops' (remember those?) into my shirts and onto my jeans. I still didn't like wearing those home-made clothes.

Do you know what I'd give for that many custom made shirts today? Wow!

Yeah - the grandon's pretty mature for being all of 8 years old. He behaves so well, then he will suddenly pitch a typical 8 year old fit, and I really get a reality check!

I guess I'd better sign off - I'm not getting much done when I keep checking for new posts...

When my brother was in college, he wanted massive quantities of shirts with the "alligator" on the pocket, but my parent's pocketbook wouldn't stretch far enough to provide what he wanted (plus, my very practical mother wasn't about to pay those horrible prices for ONE shirt!). He finally got smart and started cutting the alligator off of shirts he found in the trash and had my mom sew them on to shirts of a different brand, so his friends wouldn't know that he couldn't afford the designer shirts.

Stimp - we made my clothes when I was growing up also. As I got older, I referred to them as "hand made" rather than "home made." It seemed to give them more status in my mind. I wish I still enjoyed sewing. I really dislike shopping for clothes, but no longer have the patience to make them.
