I checked my last reciept - $143.96 for Layer, that's 1003 lbs. and $134.26 for Scratch, thats 978 lbs. You can get it it a large white bag they will use a forklift to put it on the back of your truck, or sometimes we take our feed truck that has a creeper feeder on the back. We'll fill it and set a bag on the back
I haven't finished reading all the posts today, so if you have already answered this I apologize, but what is the name of the feed store in Guthrie? It would be closer than Bristow, which is where we get our best deal on feed.

Wow. Those are some nice prices. I wonder if there is anything like that closer to the Lawton area.

Okay, I see Mike mentions Carnegie. That is close enough if I can get great prices like that. Mike, any other details you want to share about all of that? Like where do I go at the Co-op and what do I ask for? And are the grains local or imported from other states?
Have you checked with Al to see where he gets his feed? I seem to recall him mentioning a really good price for layer feed about a month ago.
I think... he goes to Spencers Feed and I believe that is where he gets his DE for reasonable pricing too

Great job on your chicken hut! Very creative but I was also eye balling the single horse trailers in the back... tee hee
The one to the left is a two horse side by side. the one to the right is a 16' combination wood slat side that is waiting rebuild. What is not seen is a 4 horse GN with full stud doors that is waiting rebuild and an 18' GN combination.
Whenever I can find them at the right price I will buy them no matter what the condition as that is what I do, weld on and fix trailers.
The last one I did at work was a 40' groundload Goose Neck brand.
It just barely fit in the shop.
These two pics are before I started and with the new steel laid in. You can clearly see the bow in the floor from years of use.

George is a sweetie, it's the hens that bite! I have a low roost in for them just 4 inches off the ground. Being a heavier bird low roosts means less leg problems from them jumping off the roost.
