My arms and back are screaming, HELP!
It is 2 1/2 hours each way. Sure wanted to see what they had available. I heard that last week the prices were great if you was buying but bad if you were selling.

Hi Everybody!!

Well the day was crazy and weird in some many frustrating and odd ways but tomorrow is Friday and all I can say about that is "Thank the powers that be!!!".

On the issue of teens of any age driving a motorcycle I would have to add an very strong NO! to that. Have you ever watched a teenager drive, it is scarier then... lets just say take a spare pair of undies. 99% do not have the focus or awareness of their surroundings to be a safe driver. And do you know how much insurance is? Holy C#&p! How is a 14 year old much less a 16 year old able to afford the insurance?
My daughter's father was supporting her bid to get a motorcycle when she was 16. Which made me want to do this

to him. How I won that argument, I demanded that not only did he have to pay for the motorcycle training classes, he also had to pay the insurance and increase her medical coverage as well to a premium policy. Also he had to agree to sign legal documents stating if she was injured in a motorcycle accident he was responsible for all her physical, medical and financial needs. The issue did not come up again. Go figure???
So I will step off my soap box now.

Carla before you buy a Go Phone make sure that AT&T will allow you to put a symm card in one and activate it. They are kinda crabby about that. As for buying one off ebay, I bought mine from an american company that had excellent feedback. Do not buy from overseas companies most of the phone are junk. I bought my Blackberry because there is a program you can load onto the phone (or any smart phone) to be able to download books to read. It is awsome to be able to carry around 30 book on my phone. Now if I could just get my text books for school on my phone that would be the bomb!

So who all is going to Blanchard???

I had not planned to go but.... Well priorities have shifted back to the obsession. Oh well Si la vie.

Well I have breakfast hash on the stove and my big guts are starting to nibble on the little guts so I am going to go eat.

Evening everyone!! Just got settled in and caught up with all you talkative people! My hatch is done and ended up having a total of 22 out of 35 hatch, I am pretty happy about that with it being my first hatch!!

Monty hate to hear you arent making it to Blanchard was looking forward to seein ya and vistin with ya!

In my vote for motorcycle is no, I have thought many times that I wanted one and it seems as though everytime I get that want I see someone that has had a wreck or on the news where someone was killed. So I have decided that I would at least stick to a minimum of 3 wheels!! Hope everyone had a great day!

I totally agree with you. I am convinced that some folks use the hood ornament as a sighting tool to aim at motorcycles and that other folks tend to look right past them. Either way, the motorcycle rider loses in any collision with a vehicle, tree or just laying it down on some uneven road or gravel. Young people already think they are imortal. They just don't understand how quickly situations can go really bad or have the experience to know when to stay off the road.

By the way - I like your newest signature line: Is it my imagination, or do buffalo wings taste like chicken?

J laughs at me, but I'm a fair weather rider. I don't ride when it's super windy, if there's fog, rain, etc. I ride when the weather is beautiful, and I wear ALL my safety gear. I may get laughed at, but a car has at least a ton on a bike, and that's a compact car and I'm a full grown adult. I'm thinking about buying my kid a tank when she's old enough.... then she can pay the insurance, gas, etc on it.

Evening,

I couldn't read what everyone was up to last night because our power pole took a direct hit during the storm. DH is traveling, so he missed the fireworks. The north side of the house was bright white for a second, like in the movie Close Encounters, and then the noise knocked the dog over.

I took a flashlight outside to survey the damage. There was a melted, plastic cover of some kind in the grass, but the rest of the pole looked fine. We had our power restored early this morning, around 2 a.m. The trucks they brought in turned our 1/4 mile driveway into a snarl of muddy, criss-crossed ditches. I had to drive through part of the front pasture to get to the road this morning because the trenches the trucks left would have stranded my car.

Is it too early to start planning the next POOPS? I've got a brooder full of little guys about to go into a grow-out pen, and I'm itching to put another hatch into the incubator.

I've got some Speckled Sussex that may be ready. I've only had my co-ed group back together for about a month. The girls have been a bit slow in getting started, but I'm getting three or four eggs a day, so there's a chance that some are fertile.

Hope your dog is alright.

Never too early to start planning POOPS. We just need someone to volunteer to spend about 80 hours organizing it and then we need to find a date and location that is convenient for that person and at least a dozen more folks who will be needed to help pull it off
