I'm going to bed. Hopefully I don't wake up before 10 am... breakfast is already set up for the kiddo. She loves Sunday mornings because she gets to get her own breakfast and then read for an hour or two before I crawl out of bed and put her to work.
Blanchard was fun this evening. Got to visit with OSUcrazyKate and her sister, Barnswallow(Jeannie) & Jason and their lovely children, Al, Carla and Gerald, FunChick (Suzie) and Justin, Jer-Man (Jerry), Stimp and his lovely better half, Michael Daugherty, SJarvis (Stephanie) and Carl, Quenston and his son, and Muesky (Rebeccah). Missed meeting b52fizzle - he was gone when I was going to introduce myself as the auction was winding down. Jerry reserved 3 tables in back for us and even put stickers on them that they were for the Okies in the BYC - Thank you!
I resemble Barn Swallow's remark that I am a bidding addict.
Because we were in the back and talking, I had to keep standing up so I could see what was on the table for bidding. I feel like I showed remarkable restraint. I didn't come home with any critters to feed and water this evening. I will however be firing up the Sportsman so I can put the mixed maran eggs that I bid on from Carla's hens, into the incubator. They are gorgeous eggs.
Thank you Poco Pollo and Barn Swallow for giving two homeless roosters a home and thank you Quenston, for providing transport to Poco's town. Good think I checked the boxes they were in one more time before I handed a box over to Quenston - my memory was incorrect as to which rooster was in which box. I suspect that Jeannie would have learned to love the Speckled Sussex, but it might have been a shock to Poco to receive a Naked Neck rooster.
It was nice to see the Okies bidding on each other's stuff, so it didn't go too cheaply. Thank you Carla and Michael for bidding on my guineas, ducks and rabbits. By the time my critters came up, about half of the crowd had left.
You have found a wonderful group of people, some of whom are addicted to buying poultry, attending poultry auctions and hatching eggs. Since a few of us tend to be enablers, we may try to assist you in acquiring similar poultry addictions if you don't already have them. So, what kind of laying hens are you looking for?

Sorry that I didn't get to meet you. Since we don't know who you are, please come over next time you see some of us wearing blue shirts with a rooster on a white circle background and introduce yourself. The three tables at the back, with folks doing more talking than paying attention to the auction, was our group.
